As a Founding Product Infrastructure Engineer, you will enhance system infrastructure for AI agents, focusing on reliability, scalability, and best practices. Responsibilities include managing CI/CD, databases, performance, and operational standards while planning for future growth.

Netic is the AI revenue engine for essential services who are the backbone of the American economy.

With $43M in funding from Founders Fund, Greylock, Hanabi, and Dylan Field who led our Series B, we helped our customers book hundreds of thousands of jobs across services industries in North America. There are now companies operating entirely AI-first on Netic.

You’ll join our team with relentless builders from Scale, Databricks, HRT, Meta, MIT, Stanford, and Harvard in bringing frontier AI to the physical economy, where the problems are hard, the data is complex, and the impact is immediate and tangible.

As a Founding Product Infrastructure Engineer, you’ll own and evolve the backbone that powers our autonomous AI agents in production. What makes this role different at Netic is the shape of the problem. You are not building infrastructure for a single product or a single industry. You are building a shared foundation that must support very different workflows and traffic patterns across multiple verticals. Some requests are low latency and real time. Others are long running, stateful, and failure prone. The same system needs to handle spikes, partial failures, and external dependencies without becoming fragile or hard to reason about.

You’ll work closely with product and application engineers to make infrastructure a force multiplier: fast to change, reliable under load, and designed with clear tradeoffs. If you enjoy building systems from first principles, operating them in the real world, and setting standards others will build on, this role is for you.

What You’ll Do
  • Define deployment and environment strategy
Own CI/CD, environment isolation, rollout strategies, and failure recovery. Ensure deploys are boring, reversible, and observable.

  • Own databases and performance at scale
Help determine how our databases should be structured, operated, and evolved. Establish processes around migrations, slow query analysis, connection management, and capacity planning.

  • Raise the operational bar
Define best practices around reliability, security, incident response, and operational hygiene—and help the rest of the team adopt them.

  • Plan for growth, not just today
Make pragmatic decisions for our current stage while clearly mapping how infrastructure will evolve over the next 12–24 months as usage, customers, and workloads scale.

What You’ll Bring
  • Strong infrastructure foundations
4+ years operating production systems at scale on a major cloud provider (we use GCP today; AWS or Azure experience is great too).

  • Infrastructure automation expertise
Deep experience with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD (Terraform, GitHub Actions, or similar), including ownership of real production environments.

  • Database and performance judgment
Hands-on experience running and tuning production databases. You’ve dealt with slow queries, connection limits, migrations, and performance regressions, and built processes to prevent them from recurring.

  • Observability fluency
Practical experience with modern monitoring and tracing tools (we use Datadog), and an opinionated approach to what’s worth measuring versus noise.

  • Security and reliability awareness
Familiarity with IAM, networking, service-to-service authentication, and the realities of operating systems that customers depend on.

  • Product-minded infrastructure thinking
You treat infrastructure as a product: you prioritize well, make tradeoffs explicit, measure impact, and continuously improve rather than chasing theoretical perfection.

We believe fulfillment comes from producing your best work with the smartest people together in one room. All roles are in person, in SF (our office is in Jackson Square). What brings us together is our commitment to:

  • Live to build

  • Run through walls and win

  • Obsess over customers in each line of code

  • Lose sleep over the "almost perfect"

  • Show internal locus of control

  • Prioritize finesse: refinement of first principles thinking, execution, and craftsmanship

We are an equal opportunity employer and do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, veteran status, disability or any other legally protected status.

San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area attracts more startup funding than any other region in the world. Home to Stanford University and UC Berkeley, leading VC firms and several of the world’s most valuable companies, the Bay Area is the place to go for anyone looking to make it big in the tech industry. That said, San Francisco has a lot to offer beyond technology thanks to a thriving art and music scene, excellent food and a short drive to several of the country’s most beautiful recreational areas.

Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 365,500; 13.9% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, Greylock Partners, Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins
  • Research Centers and Universities: Stanford University; University of California, Berkeley; University of San Francisco; Santa Clara University; Ames Research Center; Center for AI Safety; California Institute for Regenerative Medicine
