About Alex

Alex is one of the fastest-growing startups to come out of its YC batch with strong traction. We’re revenue-generating, well-funded, and backed by premier investors with years of runway.
We’re building the future of hiring. Our AI recruiter conducts live job interviews, helping companies get deep hiring signals faster and more efficiently than ever before. Customers love the product - and we’re just getting started.

About the role

We’re hiring our first Product Manager to act as an operator, not a process PM. This role is for someone who thrives in ambiguity, moves fast, and takes real ownership of outcomes. You’ll work directly with the founders to turn enterprise customer pain into shipped product that drives revenue, retention, and trust.

This is a hands-on role. You will be close to customers, work with engineering, and accountable for prioritization decisions that materially affect the business.

What you’ll do
  • Own product outcomes (not just roadmaps)

  • Turn company strategy and enterprise customer needs into a focused, executable roadmap

  • Define clear success metrics and ensure shipped work moves them

  • Make hard tradeoffs and say no - often

  • Be deeply embedded with customers

  • Join enterprise sales calls, onboarding, and escalation conversations

  • Talk to customers weekly to understand buying friction, adoption blockers, and trust concerns

  • Translate messy, qualitative feedback into clear product direction

  • Operate day-to-day with engineering

  • Partner closely with the CTO and engineers to scope, sequence, and ship work

  • Write concise, practical specs that optimize for speed and clarity

  • Unblock teams by making decisions quickly and revisiting them only when data changes

  • Be a forcing function for clarity

  • Surface tradeoffs early and explicitly

  • Keep the organization aligned as priorities shift

What success looks like (first 6-12 months)
  • Clear product priorities shared across CEO, CTO, sales, and engineering

  • Faster shipping with less rework and thrash

  • Measurable improvements in enterprise activation, expansion, or deal velocity

What we’re looking for
  • Required

    • 4+ years of product management experience (startup experience strongly preferred)

    • Proven ability to ship product in ambiguous environments

    • Strong customer instincts — you care deeply about real user pain

    • Comfortable making decisions with incomplete information

    • Clear communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Nice-to-have

    • Experience shipping AI applications

    • Experience selling to or building for enterprises

    • Background in fast-growing startups (Seed–Series B)

    • Former founders or operators (YC strongly preferred)

This role is not for you if:
  • You prefer heavy process over speed

  • You need perfect data before making decisions

  • You want clear requirements handed to you

  • You’re uncomfortable pushing back on founders

  • You don’t want to work in person - we’re in office in San Francisco 5 days a week

Why join
  • Direct ownership over a mission-critical product at Series A

  • Close partnership with founders on real decisions

  • Opportunity to shape enterprise product foundations early

  • High trust, high accountability environment

We’re looking for a builder who wants to own outcomes, not a roadmap. If you’ve been the PM who actually made things work at an early-stage company, we want to talk.

  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
