About Roger

Roger is an AI platform that frees home health clinicians from paperwork so they can focus on what matters: delivering life-changing care to our most vulnerable elderly patients in the comfort of their homes. Backed by leading investors like SignalFire, we've powered millions of visits, deployed to thousands of clinicians, and we're just getting started.

Why This Role Exists

The team we build right now will define Roger's trajectory. We need a Founding Recruiter who takes full ownership of how we find, attract, and close the exceptional talent that will accelerate this mission.

This isn't a "fill roles as they come" position. You'll partner directly with founders to turn ambitious hiring goals into a repeatable, high-signal hiring engine, defining who we hire, how we hire, and how we show up to the talent market.

This is a founding role with real impact, real ownership, and real expectations. As Roger scales, you'll have the opportunity to build and lead a recruiting team, own employer brand, and grow into a strategic People leader with a seat at the table.

What You'll Do
  • Own hiring end-to-end: Source, engage, interview, and close exceptional engineers, operators, and product leaders with quality and speed.

  • Partner directly with founders: Translate company goals into hiring plans, headcount forecasts, and clear role definitions.

  • Build the recruiting engine: Design and iterate on sourcing strategies, funnels, metrics, interview loops, and candidate experience.

  • Be the face of Roger to talent: Tell the story authentically, represent the culture with integrity, and build trust with top-tier candidates.

  • Embed in the talent ecosystem: Develop strong relationships across technical, healthcare, startup, and founder communities.

  • Create scalable foundations: Build out our Ashby instance, document interview rubrics, and create onboarding processes that hold up as the team grows.

What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, ideally in an early-stage or high-growth startup environment.

  • Proven ability to recruit technical talent, especially engineers, and earn trust with highly technical candidates.

  • Experience hiring across both technical and operational roles.

  • A relentless sourcer. You know how to hunt, not just manage inbound.

  • High ownership mentality and comfort operating in ambiguity.

  • Strong communication and closing skills; able to clearly and compellingly represent Roger.

  • Mission motivated. You care about healthcare and are excited to help build a company that makes a real difference for clinicians and patients.

San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area attracts more startup funding than any other region in the world. Home to Stanford University and UC Berkeley, leading VC firms and several of the world’s most valuable companies, the Bay Area is the place to go for anyone looking to make it big in the tech industry. That said, San Francisco has a lot to offer beyond technology thanks to a thriving art and music scene, excellent food and a short drive to several of the country’s most beautiful recreational areas.

Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 365,500; 13.9% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, Greylock Partners, Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins
  • Research Centers and Universities: Stanford University; University of California, Berkeley; University of San Francisco; Santa Clara University; Ames Research Center; Center for AI Safety; California Institute for Regenerative Medicine
