Numeral is transforming how taxes get done. Digital businesses are currently bogged down by a painful web of regulations across 47 states and 50+ countries. We’re eliminating this burden so teams can focus on their core mission.
We’re the largest and fastest growing AI-native tax solution. Started in 2023, Numeral has raised over $57M from Benchmark, Mayfield, Y-Combinator, and many others. We now serve over 2,500 paying customers and have more than tripled our revenue every year in our history.
We’re primarily hiring in our SF and NY offices, but do hire remotely in some cases
We’re hiring a Founding Deployment Engineer who thrives at the intersection of software engineering, customer engagement, and product design. You’ll own the full technical sales lifecycle — from designing pre-sales demos to advising on architecture, and all the way through post-sales implementation. This role is ideal for an engineer who loves being customer-facing and wants to build product, not just pitch it. You’ll work cross-functionally with Sales, Engineering, and Product to not only drive customer success, but also directly shape the features we build based on real customer needs. You’ll be our first hire in this function — which means you’ll have significant autonomy, impact, and ownership.
Partner with Sales to lead technical discovery, run product demos, and scope integrations for prospective customers.
Own the technical onboarding and implementation process — from solution design to production launch.
Build and maintain demo environments, proof-of-concepts, and integration documentation to streamline customer onboarding.
Work directly with Engineering and Product to translate customer requirements into new features and improvements.
Serve as a trusted advisor to customers on architecture, APIs, and best practices.
Create internal tools and automations that improve solution delivery.
Be the voice of the customer — bring learnings back to the product and engineering team to inform roadmap decisions.

Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to operate in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
