About the Job

Array Labs is looking for an FP&A Manager to help us build and run the function from the ground up. You'll be our first dedicated finance hire, responsible for the model, planning cadence, and reporting the company needs to scale, without creating unnecessary overhead for the team. You'll sit at the intersection of financial planning and strategic analysis, building a financial operating model that connects contracts, programs, manufacturing, and commercial plans into one clear view of revenue, margin, and cash. This is a hands-on individual-contributor role reporting to the COO.

Responsibilities

  • Own the company financial model, connecting signed contracts, pipeline, program schedules, production, headcount, procurement commitments, capital expenditures, and operating expenses into a clear picture of revenue, margin, cash, and runway.

  • Translate contracts and pipeline into revenue, billing, and cash schedules, with consistent definitions for bookings, funded backlog, revenue, billings, and cash—rather than a single revenue line.

  • Build lightweight FP&A processes optimized for low organizational burden, including reporting cadences and variance analysis.

  • Design budget guardrails that let teams spend within plan without routine approval, while routing new headcount and material commitments to appropriate review.

  • Prepare financial materials and diligence responses in support of fundraising and investor relations

  • Build lightweight FP&A processes, including reporting cadences, variance analysis, and KPI tracking, optimizing for low organizational burden

  • Track actuals against forecast and surface variances with clear recommendations

  • Partner with the CEO and COO on resource allocation and strategic financial decisions

  • Serve as the primary liaison to external accountants, owning the financial outputs

  • Manage government contract invoicing

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years in finance, including at least 3 in an operating FP&A, business-finance, or program-finance role, with time at an early-stage startup (Series A, B, or C)

  • Experience building a finance function, model, and/or reporting system from little to no existing structure.

  • Comfortable operating without a defined playbook in a fast-moving environment

  • Strong communicator; able to translate complex financial concepts and jargon for non-finance audiences

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Background in aerospace, defense, hardware, or deep tech

  • Familiarity with government contracting revenue or cost structures, including milestone-based or fixed-price mechanics

  • Familiarity with costed bills of materials, inventory, long-lead procurement, or program cost-at-completion.

  • Experience supporting or leading an early stage company fundraise, including preparing investor materials and financial diligence

Compensation & Benefits
Our hiring and compensation strategy is simple: find uncommonly good people and pay them uncommonly well.

We offer high flexibility between salary and equity-based compensation. Final candidates can choose from three compensation mixes: low, medium, or high equity. Equity is a significant component of total compensation, and we aim to provide meaningful ownership for this role.

Full-time employees also enjoy a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, a 401(k) with company match, commuter benefits, and more.

Interview Process
We will conduct interviews via Google Meet with the potential for an onsite visit; the typical process takes around 3-5 weeks to complete from start to finish.
