Overview

Who We Are Seeking

We are seeking a Mid-Level Freelance Frontend Software Engineer to join our remote team. You will work alongside a group of dedicated, multi-disciplined technologists and designers to bring high-quality, scalable solutions to market.

We count on our developers to write elegant, maintainable, and well-documented code with a strict eye toward separation of concerns. Our developers are creatives at heart—we expect an eye for polished design, active collaboration on micro-interactions, and a deep understanding of the overall user experience when building our software.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do 

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize production-grade frontend code across a portfolio of enterprise websites for our clients, utilizing modern web technologies
  • Active participation in peer code reviews, adhering to best practices, maintaining high standards for code maintainability, and authoring comprehensive technical documentation
  • Collaborate closely within an agile, multi-disciplinary team comprising developers, UI/UX
Required Skills
  • 4+ years of professional web development experience writing clean, production-ready HTML, CSS, and TypeScript or JavaScript
  • Strong, hands-on experience with at least one modern Javascript framework (React, Angular, etc) building structured, maintainable, and scalable web experiences
  • Working knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility rules and optimization
  • Experience building smooth, performant animation with CSS, GSAP, Framer Motion or similar
  • Experience shipping for external clients on fixed deadlines, ideally at an agency
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while demonstrating proactive communication, creative problem-solving, and team-first collaboration.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Design, or equivalent practical work experience.
  • Bonus points for experience with backend code (Python, Typescript, Go) and integrating AI into experiences

Compensation

The hourly rate for this role is $60.00-$100.00. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Culver City, California. This is the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
