Position Summary
The Front Desk Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for employees, candidates, customers, vendors, and visitors entering Butcher Power Products headquarters. This role is responsible for creating a professional, welcoming, and efficient front-door experience while supporting daily office operations and maintaining a positive first impression of the organization.
As a visible ambassador of BPP's Culture & Professionalism Commitment, the Receptionist demonstrates exceptional customer service, professionalism, responsiveness, and hospitality in every interaction. This position plays a critical role in connecting visitors and employees, coordinating access to secured office areas, and ensuring smooth communication between the lobby and headquarters team.
What You'll Do
Visitor Experience & Reception Operations
- Serve as the first point of contact for employees, candidates, customers, vendors, and visitors entering headquarters.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and create a welcoming, professional experience for all guests.
- Greet visitors, verify appointments, issue visitor badges, and follow established visitor access procedures.
- Notify employees of visitor arrivals and coordinate smooth transitions between the lobby and secured office areas.
- Maintain visitor logs, reception records, and guest check-in processes.
- Support candidate interview experiences, new hire arrivals, executive visits, customer meetings, and special events.
Communication & Office Coordination
- Serve as the communication hub between the lobby reception area and headquarters offices.
- Answer, screen, and route incoming calls in a professional and courteous manner.
- Monitor reception communications and direct inquiries to the appropriate departments.
- Coordinate visitor, vendor, delivery, and candidate arrivals with employees and leadership.
- Escalate urgent or time-sensitive matters appropriately.
Mail, Deliveries & Administrative Support
- Receive, sign for, and log incoming mail, packages, and deliveries.
- Notify employees of package arrivals and coordinate pickup or delivery when appropriate.
- Maintain delivery records and support chain-of-custody procedures for sensitive or time-sensitive deliveries.
- Assist with administrative support, data entry, filing, scheduling assistance, and special projects as assigned.
- Support office supply inventory tracking and communicate replenishment needs to the Office Manager.
Workplace & Hospitality Support
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional reception area and visitor-facing spaces.
- Ensure guest waiting areas remain welcoming, stocked, and presentable.
- Assist with catering coordination and conference room support when operationally appropriate.
- Support a positive workplace atmosphere through professionalism, responsiveness, and attention to detail.

Schedule
- Standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
- This position includes a 30-minute unpaid meal period and applicable rest breaks in accordance with company policy and California law.
- Occasional schedule flexibility may be required to support candidate interviews, executive visits, customer meetings, company events, or other business needs.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to remain stationary and/or move throughout the reception and office areas for extended periods of time.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and through electronic communication.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment, including computers, phones, copiers, printers, and scanners.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move packages, office supplies, and meeting materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to occasionally push, pull, bend, reach, and transport materials throughout the office.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Two (2) or more years of receptionist, customer service, hospitality, administrative support, or related experience.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Professional appearance, demeanor, and customer-service orientation.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting a manufacturing, industrial, engineering, or corporate office environment.
- Experience with visitor management systems, access control, or badge issuance processes.
- Experience supporting recruiting interviews, executive visits, customer meetings, or event coordination.
- Experience in a front desk, hospitality, concierge, or customer-facing administrative role.

The base pay range for this role is $22 – $28 per hour.
