Snapshot

Bring groundbreaking AI capabilities to life in the Gemini App. Join Google DeepMind's mission to advance science and benefit humanity by solving intelligence. We're seeking experienced, self-motivated engineers to build cutting-edge Gemini applications that will redefine AI interaction for billions. We are the driving force behind many of Google's most ambitious and impactful AI breakthroughs.

About Us

Artificial Intelligence could be one of humanity’s most useful inventions. At Google DeepMind, we’re a team of scientists, engineers, machine learning experts and more, working together to advance the state of the art in artificial intelligence. We use our technologies for widespread public benefit and scientific discovery, and collaborate with others on critical challenges, ensuring safety and ethics are the highest priority.

The Role

The Gemini App is the interface for Google’s most advanced AI capabilities, spanning multiple surfaces including web, mobile, and smart devices. Our team creates the user-facing experiences that will define how millions of people interact with AI every day.

We are looking for product-minded mobile engineers (Android or iOS) to join a team at a thrilling inflection point. You will partner closely with Modeling, UX, and Product teams to prototype new ideas and innovate on the future of human-computer interaction. This is a role with massive impact, where you would be architecting our core mobile application and building the user interfaces for creative tools (like Canvas and video generation) and intelligent multi-step workflows (like Deep Research).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Own and deliver high-quality, user-facing features on Gemini's mobile apps (Android and/or iOS), from initial prototype to launch.
  • Architect and build scalable mobile systems, demonstrating a deep understanding of native platform capabilities and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain supporting server-side logic to power mobile features and optimize data for the client.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, UX, and Modeling teams to translate complex AI capabilities into user-friendly mobile experiences.
Key Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in native mobile development (Android or iOS), with a strong portfolio of building and shipping world-class, user-facing applications at scale.
  • Deep expertise in modern mobile languages and platforms:
  • Demonstrated experience with client-supporting server development to complement your deep mobile expertise.
  • A strong aptitude for mobile system design and a proven ability to architect resilient, scalable features.
  • Excellent collaboration skills and experience working in a cross-functional team environment.
About You

You are a mobile-first engineer who values craftsmanship and the user experience, with a proven ability to own features from prototype to a polished public launch. Your deep expertise in native mobile development is complemented by the versatility to handle client-supporting server tasks, allowing you to work quickly and independently. You thrive in ambiguity and are excited to build novel UIs that will define how people interact with AI. Familiarity with ML systems and LLM concepts is a plus but not required.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $141,000 - $244,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.
