Magical is redefining how work gets done.

Our agentic AI platform brings "AI employees" into the workplace to take over the repetitive, soul-crushing workflows that slow teams down. The result: organizations move faster, with sharper focus, and deliver better outcomes where it matters most, like improving patient care.

The shift to agentic work is inevitable, and we’re leading it. We've scaled from $0 -> $XM ARR in 3 months with our agentic product, and we're looking for engineers to help us reach $XXM ARR in the next 9 months. As a founding engineer, you won’t just be writing code, you’ll be shaping the playbook for the future of work alongside a small, relentless team pushing the edge of what’s possible with AI.

We're backed by the investors behind OpenAI, Anthropic, Huggingface, and Notion, including Greylock, Coatue, and Lightspeed. The runway is long. The ambition is high. And the market is wide open.

About the role

  • Build and evolve our automation builder, enabling users to create sophisticated multi-agent workflows with ease

  • Leverage AI to deliver smart suggestions for improving prompts and testing agent performance

  • Develop features that let users supervise automations, jump in to assist, and teach agents through hands-on feedback

  • Collaborate closely with product and design to shape the roadmap and bring bold ideas to life on the frontier of agentic AI

About you

  • Have 2+ years of software engineering experience, mostly in TypeScript and React

  • Have a strong bias towards action, a willingness to do whatever it takes, and embody show > tell

  • Have a strong sense of agency, effectively prioritizing and unblocking yourself without much outside input.

  • Value taking ownership and responsibility for your projects and systems.

  • Studied Computer Science (or related field), or dropped out to build stuff

  • Located in SF or willing to relocate

What we offer

  • A chance to be an early team member at a fast-growing, ambitious company

  • The opportunity to push the boundaries of what’s possible with AI

  • A modern stack and the latest tools to do your best work

  • Competitive salary and meaningful equity

  • Unlimited PTO

  • Fun team offsites, past trips include Iceland, Lisbon, Cancun, and Costa Rica

Tech stack

  • TypeScript

  • Frontend: Next.js, Shadcn, Tanstack, Tailwind, Zustand, and Vite

  • Backend: Node, AI SDK, Hono, Drizzle, Postgres (neon), and Railway
