Description

As a Frontend Engineer at Wordly, you will build and improve user experiences that help customers effectively use Wordly’s real-time translation features across our applications.

This is an individual contributor role focused on hands-on implementation. You will work from product requirements, UI designs, and established technical direction to build new features, improve existing applications, and contribute reusable UI components that support a consistent frontend experience across the platform.

We are looking for someone who can work independently from clear requirements and contribute effectively within a fully remote team. . Strong experience with either React or Angular frameworks is required, and exposure to the other is a plus. You should also be comfortable writing tests, integrating with backend APIs, and using AI-assisted development tools effectively and responsibly as part of day-to-day engineering work.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience building frontend applications from product requirements

  • Strong understanding of React and common React development patterns, or Angular, including common RxJS patterns; experience with both is a plus

  • Strong knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript

  • Experience writing and maintaining frontend tests, including unit tests, with tools such as Jest, React Testing Library, Jasmine, or similar

  • Experience integrating frontend applications with backend APIs

  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf, Claude Code, or similar, and comfort using them effectively and responsibly

  • Experience working in modern software development workflows, including version control and code review practices

  • Comfortable working with a fully remote team

  • Self-motivated and able to implement features independently from clear requirements

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working with React-based frameworks such as Next.js

  • Familiarity with accessibility best practices

  • Familiarity with CI/CD environments and pipelines

  • Experience working with design systems, shared UI components, or reusable component libraries

  • B.S. degree in Computer Science or equivalent from an accredited institution

Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain frontend solutions from product requirements and UI designs

  • Improve and support existing frontend applications

  • Build and maintain reusable UI components that can be shared across applications

  • Work cross-functionally with Product, UI Design, and Backend Engineering to deliver frontend functionality

  • Integrate frontend applications with backend APIs

  • Write and maintain unit tests and follow general frontend testing practices

  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to clean, maintainable, and reusable code

  • Debug and resolve issues in existing frontend applications
