About the Role

We are looking for a talented Frontend Software Engineer to drive the early development of Harmonic’s web products and marketing materials. In this role, you will be instrumental in translating cutting-edge Mathematical Superintelligence into delightful and useful consumer experiences, as well as shape how Harmonic tells its story to the world. We are looking for a driven self-starter with a proven track record of shipping ambitious, impactful, and user-centric products from inception, specifically demonstrating expertise in crafting performant, scalable, and intuitive frontend web applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end development of our web applications, leading the technical design, implementation, and deployment of a high-quality product from the ground up.

• Obsess over the details of the user experience by implementing intuitive web user experiences as well as optimizing application performance.

• Partner closely with product managers, designers, and research teams to define, prototype, and build innovative features that transform complex technology into seamless and intuitive user interactions.

• Leverage AI-native tools (e.g., Cursor, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate development cycles and establish new best practices in mobile engineering.

• Own the implementation of Harmonic’s website, engineering blog, and other marketing materials.

What We're Looking For

Deep Web Expertise: A proven track record of shipping ambitious and user-centric web applications from concept to launch.

Product-Minded Engineer: A strong sense of user empathy and product intuition, with a passion for building experiences that are both powerful and delightful.

Ownership and Ambiguity: The ability to operate independently and effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative, and highly ambiguous environment, consistently delivering results.

Cross-Functional Excellence: Superb communication skills and a history of working effectively with product, design, and other engineering teams to achieve shared goals.

Minimum Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent industry experience.

• 3+ years of hands-on relevant industry experience.

• Demonstrated success in delivering complex native web apps with React.  

• Experience with experimentation and iterative development processes.

• Proven work ethic, self-motivation, and a passion for building impactful products  

• Experience collaborating with designers, including familiarity with Figma.

• Solid product sense, an eye for design, and a willingness to think critically about user experience. 

• Experience with modern software development practices including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build and deployment processes, and testing.

• Proven track record operating successfully in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Expo and React Native

• Prior experience in collaborating with research teams or in a research-driven environment.

• Experience in developing products from concept to launch. 

• Experience building complex mobile apps.
