Headquartered in Mountain View, we are a team of 100 passionate and experienced AI enthusiasts and video experts, driven by our core values:

  • Be a Champion Team

  • Prioritize Ruthlessly

  • Ship fast, Quality Follows

  • Obsess over customers

Be a part of this exciting journey with us!

The Role

OpusClip is building the next generation of AI-native products — and we need someone who can keep up. We are seeking a Full-Stack AI Engineer who operates at the intersection of applied AI, product instinct, and architectural excellence. This is not a role for someone who waits for tickets. This is a role for a builder who thrives in zero-to-one environments, brings strong technical judgment to AI-generated codebases, and has the grit to ship something the world hasn't seen before.

The Mandate

  • Architect the AI-Native Codebase: Take ownership of redesigning the structure of a fast-moving, AI-generated codebase. You will bring scalability, maintainability, and long-term thinking to a system built for speed — and make it production-ready.

  • Strong Technical Judgment: Know when to hack and when to craft. You will make smart, opinionated decisions about architecture, tooling, and trade-offs — and bring the team along with you.

  • Build Full-Stack, End to End: Own features from front-end (React) to back-end (Node.js, Django, Python), shipping prototypes to production fast and with quality to follow.

  • Applied AI Engineering: Work hands-on with LLMs, AI agents, tool calling, and memory systems to solve real product challenges — not as a side task, but as the core of what you do.

  • Shape the Product: Collaborate with product and marketing to define what gets built. You think about users and outcomes, not just code.

The Profile

  • The AI Architect: You have experience working on AI-native codebases — whether you came from a product or engineering background — and you know how to bring structure to chaos.

  • The Full-Stack Generalist: You're comfortable across the entire stack. React on the front end, Node.js or Django on the back. You don't wait for someone else to own a layer.

  • The Zero-to-One Builder: You've shipped products from scratch, ideally as a solo developer or in a very small team. You define your own scope and thrive in ambiguity.

  • The Gritty Competitor: You resonate with a combat spirit to win. Speed is everything, and you treat shipping like a sport. (Watch the F1 movie. You'll get it.)

  • The AI-Native Engineer: You use Cursor and other AI coding tools fluently — but you also know their limits and when human judgment has to lead.

Nice to Haves

  • Multimodal AI Engineering (Video ML/Video AI)

  • Background that blends product thinking with technical depth

You Should NOT Apply If

  • You prefer clearly defined scope handed to you

  • You want to focus purely on coding without thinking about product or users

  • You think vibe coding and production engineering are the same thing

  • You don't use AI coding tools — or can't code without them

What you need to know about the San Francisco Tech Scene

San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area attracts more startup funding than any other region in the world. Home to Stanford University and UC Berkeley, leading VC firms and several of the world’s most valuable companies, the Bay Area is the place to go for anyone looking to make it big in the tech industry. That said, San Francisco has a lot to offer beyond technology thanks to a thriving art and music scene, excellent food and a short drive to several of the country’s most beautiful recreational areas.

Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 365,500; 13.9% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, Greylock Partners, Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins
  • Research Centers and Universities: Stanford University; University of California, Berkeley; University of San Francisco; Santa Clara University; Ames Research Center; Center for AI Safety; California Institute for Regenerative Medicine
