The Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Full-Stack Python Software Engineer to design and build high-quality digital solutions using Python web frameworks and modern front-end technologies.

You will bring strong foundations in computer science, including data structures, algorithms, SQL and NoSQL databases, distributed systems, and communication protocols. Working closely with Product Owners, architects, business analysts, Tech Leads, and fellow engineers, you will translate business needs into efficient, maintainable solutions.

You will have the opportunity to build advanced systems using modern technologies while gaining valuable experience with financial services digital marketing platforms.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality full-stack solutions using Python, Django, and Angular, with potential future migration to ReactJS.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, architects, business analysts, Tech Leads, and engineers to understand requirements and deliver practical, well-designed solutions.
  • Develop and customize CMS capabilities using Wagtail, integrate PostgreSQL, and design robust task and messaging solutions.
  • Build and consume REST APIs and microservices, applying established API practices including OpenAPI and Swagger.
  • Contribute to cloud-based applications using AWS, modern CI/CD and code-quality tooling, Git, automated testing, and collaborative code reviews.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong hands-on software engineering experience, with significant experience using Python and Django or Flask/FastAPI, alongside front-end development using Angular.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, SQL and NoSQL databases, data modelling, distributed systems, and communication protocols.
  • Experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL, alongside AWS cloud services, deployment strategies, Git, and modern CI/CD practices such as Jenkins.
  • Strong reasoning and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret evolving requirements, ask effective questions, and consider solutions in the context of the wider product.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with experience contributing within Agile, cross-functional engineering teams.

Bonus Points For

  • Experience with Wagtail or another CMS framework.
  • Knowledge of ReactJS alongside Angular.
  • Experience with messaging or streaming technologies such as Celery, RabbitMQ, or Kafka.
  • Experience using AI-enabled coding tools such as GitHub Copilot to support software development.
  • Exposure to Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), agentic approaches, or other AI-enabled engineering practices.

Pay Transparency

The salary range for this position is listed below. Additionally, this position may also be eligible to receive an annual discretionary/variable bonus payment.

The base pay offered to selected candidates will be within the salary range and the placement will vary based upon a variety of factors, including, but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, experience and internal equity.
