Why do we need you? Well, we are looking for a Full Stack Engineer III who will bring deep technical know-how, system design knowledge and a healthy dose of fun to the team. You will report to the Engineering Manager for the Scheduling group and will play a key role in designing and supporting the core features and architecture that underpin Calendly’s core product experience and maintain our users’ confidence.

A day in the life of a Full Stack Engineer at Calendly

The Calendly platform is a monolith that is being decomposed into various services in order for us to scale our platform and team. We need ambitious, experienced engineers who can help us drive this stage of growth. As an engineer at Calendly, you will both build new features and work to scale our platform and architecture. You will build tooling and automation to fine tune our delivery process as you grow into a service oriented specialist. You will also learn to work with multiple technologies such as Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, Argo Workflows, Rails, NodeJS, React, Golang, PostgreSQL, Redis, to name a few.

On a typical day, you will be working on: 

  • Collaborate within your team to build new features that are targeted at our highest impact enterprise customers. 
  • Contribute to platform scaling initiatives.
  • Meet regularly with Product and Design to fine tune requirements.
  • Attend agile ceremonies to help your team plan out their work and get it done.
  • Work across squads to improve Engineering practices at Calendly.
  • Review implementation plans and pull requests from your peers.
  • Mentor and coach other team members.

What do we need from you?

  • 4+ years of Software Development experience at a SaaS or technology company.
  • Professional experience with Rails is preferred. Experience with Node or a comparable web-app framework is also acceptable.
  • Professional experience with TypeScript. 
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies, changing requirements, and evolving organizational needs
  • Hands-on experience with Service-Oriented Architectures (SOA), microservices, and involvement in monolith-to-services modernization or large-scale refactoring initiatives.
  • Proven ability to own features end-to-end, including technical discovery, implementation, testing, release, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Experience using AI coding assistants (Copilot, Cursor, etc.) as productivity tools, with a clear understanding of generated code and the ability to defend implementation choices.
  • Availability for participation in on-call rotation, ensuring prompt and effective responses to business-critical alerts outside of regular working hours
  • Authorized to work lawfully in the United States of America as Calendly does not engage in immigration sponsorship at this time.

$187,680$237,360 USD
Tier 2 Salary Hiring Range
$172,040$217,580 USD
Tier 3 Salary Hiring Range
$156,400$197,800 USD

The ranges listed above are the expected annual base salary for this role, subject to change.

Calendly takes a number of factors into consideration when determining an employee’s starting salary, including relevant experience, relevant skills sets, interview performance, location/metropolitan area, and internal pay equity.

Base salary is just one component of Calendly’s total rewards package. All full-time (30 hours/week) employees are also eligible for our Top Performer Bonus program (or Sales incentive), equity awards, and competitive benefits.

Calendly uses the zip code of an employee’s remote work location, or the onsite building location if hybrid, to determine which metropolitan pay range we use. Current geographic zones are as follows:

  • Tier 1: San Francisco, CA, San Jose, CA, New York City, NY
  • Tier 2: Chicago, IL, Austin, TX, Denver, CO, Boston, MA, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, PA, Portland, OR, Seattle, WA, Miami, FL, and all other cities in CA.
  • Tier 3: All other locations not in Tier 1 or Tier 2
