WORK ENVIRONMENT:

We are a remote first company with the exception of a few positions being onsite in our designated locations.  The positions which are remote you will need to be able to travel a few times a year. You may be required at times to visit client sites or attend meetings at designated locations with your team members.

POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Full Stack Engineer at Nymbus you will leverage your deep technical abilities to plan and deliver functionality start to finish, using an AI-first approach, while also contributing to the architectural vision of our products.  Additionally you will build up the team’s abilities by mentoring other software engineers to improve code quality, leverage AI for development and also working with them to organize their work.

We use Kiro (kiro.dev) as our standard AI-powered IDE, leveraging the latest Claude models from Anthropic to support design, development, and testing. In this role, engineers are expected to take an AI-first approach to their work and have experience crafting effective prompts, iterating with AI on design and specifications, managing context files, integrating with MCP servers, and reviewing AI-generated code and selected libraries.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable full-stack applications that meet high standards for security, compliance, performance, and reliability
  • Own technical design for complex features and services, contributing to architectural patterns and long-term platform direction
  • Translate business requirements and UX designs into well-structured technical solutions with accurate effort estimates
  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools as a standard part of your engineering workflow to improve velocity, quality, and automation
  • Identify technical risks early and drive pragmatic mitigation strategies
  • Lead root cause analysis of production incidents and implement durable, systemic fixes
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align architecture, integrations, and delivery timelines
  • Promote reusable components, shared libraries, and engineering best practices
  • Provide thoughtful code reviews and mentor engineers to elevate team performance
  • Continuously improve system design, automation, and developer experience

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • Experience building full-stack applications using Java, JavaScript, and React
  • Strong experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs (OpenAPI/Swagger)
  • Proficiency with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and writing efficient SQL
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar) and Git-based workflows
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito
  • Familiarity with messaging systems (Kafka, Redis Streams, or similar)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence technical decisions

NICE TO HAVE:

  • Experience in Fintech, banking, or payment systems
  • Familiarity with AWS services
  • Exposure to observability tools such as Grafana, Splunk, or Logz.io

INTERVIEW PROCESS:

Candidates typically complete up to four interviews (30–60 minutes each).

One technical interview includes a live development session using your preferred IDE. This session will focus specifically on how you incorporate AI into your development workflow, including:

  • AI tools you’ve used
  • Prompting techniques
  • AI-assisted debugging
  • Design iteration with AI
  • Reviewing and validating AI-generated output

SALARY & BENEFITS:

  • $100,000 - $120,000 Annual Salary
