We are on a mission to make every host a 5-star host by automating and improving their operations with the help of AI. Our founding team consists of highly experienced technical leaders from Airbnb, Dropbox, Harvard and Yale.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Product Engineer with a strong front-end focus to join our founding team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will work closely with the founders to design, develop, and scale our AI-powered platform. You will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our product and shape the future of the short-term rental industry.

As one of our first full time engineering team members, you will:

• Develop and maintain scalable, high-performance web applications using modern front-end technologies such as React and TypeScript
• Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate front-end components with RESTful APIs and backend services
• Implement intuitive and responsive user interfaces that provide a seamless experience for our users
• Optimize application performance and ensure cross-browser compatibility
• Contribute to the overall architecture and design decisions of our platform
• Work closely with product managers and designers to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices and coding standards
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain high code quality
• Stay up-to-date with the latest front-end technologies and frameworks and propose improvements to our tech stack

What We're Looking For:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 3+ years of professional experience in full stack web development with a focus on front-end technologies
• Strong proficiency in front-end technologies including TypeScript and React.
• Strong proficiency in Python and server-side frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, etc.
• Strong proficiency working with distributed systems, microservices, and containers e.g. Docker.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL), and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP)
• Solid understanding of web development best practices, performance optimization techniques, and cross-browser compatibility
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex issues
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment
• Passion for building high-quality, user-centric web applications.
• Devops experience and/or experience developing IaC using tools like Terraform, Pulumi, etc. a plus.
• Experience with generative AI platforms and technologies e.g. OpenAI a plus.
• Contractor role with potential for full-time conversion
• This role will require working PST hours
• We have a preference for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay Area who are able to come into our office in San Francisco on a hybrid basis 3-4 days a week, although exceptions can be made on a case by case basis.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with native iOS development in Swift
• Familiarity with AI and machine learning concepts
• Previous experience in a startup environment
• Prior exposure to the short-term rental space and empathy for hosts is a plus
