Lead the development of web services for HD mapping, including backend architecture, frontend tools, and automation of workflows while mentoring team members.
The HD Mapping team is seeking an experienced fullstack engineer to lead the development of the web services that supports creation, cataloging, and maintenance of the HD maps deployed to Zoox’s fleet. This role will be instrumental in scaling our mapping operations across cities.
In this role, you will:
- Own and architect backend services (FastAPI) for the HD Mapping team's web infrastructure
- Support development of frontend tools for interacting with Zoox’s maps
- Automate complex pipelines and workflows
- Mentor team members on web technologies and distributed systems
Qualifications
- 3 years or more of industry experience in backend development and distributed systems
- Comfortable establishing guidelines and refactoring existing code to follow best practices
- Knowledge of database design and API development
- Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor others
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with React, Typescript
- Experience with Python, FastAPI, Kubernetes, and ArgoCD
- Knowledge of geospatial data and coordinate systems
- Experience automating complex workflows (Airflow)
