About the Role & Program 

Are you ready to kick off your legal career in the entertainment industry? Join the FX Business & Legal Affairs team and gain hands-on experience drafting agreements for above-the-line talent (producers, writers, directors, actors, and casting directors), underlying rights, and marketing for groundbreaking scripted and unscripted streaming programming. As an intern, you'll support a dynamic team across development, production, legal, and marketing, and contribute to high-profile projects that shape the future of entertainment. This is a unique opportunity that exposes you to business affairs, production legal, and marketing legal, making it an ideal launchpad for your legal career in media and entertainment!

This is a part-time internship, and the approximate dates are from September 2026 through December 2026. If selected for this opportunity, you will report directly to the Senior Manager of Business Affairs.
 

What You Will Do

As an intern, you’ll be involved in a variety of exciting projects that will challenge and develop your skillset. Drafting projects will include producing, acting, writing and development agreements; marketing services agreements; option purchase agreements; and responding to talent redline comments. You will also have the opportunity to sit in on production legal kickoff calls, department meetings, and marketing task force meetings. Finally, you will assist with research projects and help synthesize deal terms negotiation updates, closed deals terms, and signed agreements between different departments.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous work experience in the entertainment industry, and basic knowledge of copyright law and intellectual property

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines under pressure

  • A detail-oriented approach, even when processing a large volume of documents. Shown ability to take initiative and balance multiple projects

  • Collaborative teammate who can also work independently

  • Demonstrate a high degree of discretion regarding sensitive and/or confidential information

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Airtable and/or Netdocs

Education

  • Currently enrolled at an accredited law school and legally eligible to work in the U.S.

  • Completion of one year of law school in a current JD program at the start of the internship

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information:

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.

  • Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants:  You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program. 

  • Be at least 18 years of age

  • Possess unrestricted work authorization

Additional Information:

  • Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship

  • The approximate dates of this internship are September 2026 through December 2026

  • Available part-time from Monday through Friday, 9am - 6pm PST for the duration of the internship, 20 hours each week. Internship schedule will be adjusted to accommodate class schedule, and Friday hours may be remote, if desired.

  • Able to provide own housing for the duration internship program in the Burbank, California area

  • Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work

The pay rate for this role in California is $41.40 per hour. Select benefits may be provided as part of the compensation package, such as medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
