We are hiring a GCP Cloud Architect Lead to design and govern secure Google Cloud Platform architectures for a federal health customer. You will work with system administrators, application teams, and project teams to operate, modernize, and migrate applications in the cloud, and you will set the technical direction for new workloads. The role sits on a cloud operations and migration team. This position is fully remote in the United States.
What you will do...
- Design and maintain GCP landing zones that meet FedRAMP High and NIST requirements.
- Lead technical assessments of pilots and new workloads, and recommend the architecture and path to production.
- Plan and lead migrations of applications and data from on-premises data centers and other clouds to GCP, including secure hybrid connectivity.
- Champion Infrastructure as Code with Terraform so environments are repeatable, version-controlled, and consistently compliant.
- Establish cost optimization, governance, and resource tagging practices that give clear accountability.
Minimum qualifications...
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience, and 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture, solution engineering, enterprise architecture, or related technical roles.
- Proven experience leading the design, governance, and integration of secure GCP solutions, including landing zones aligned to FedRAMP High and NIST.
- Network architecture on GCP using Network Connectivity Center, multi-VPC designs, HA Cloud VPN, and Interconnect, including designs that meet Trusted Internet Connections (TIC) policy.
- Experience modernizing legacy systems with GKE and serverless platforms, and leading application and data migrations to GCP.
- Strong proficiency with Terraform, plus hands-on cost optimization, cloud governance, and resource tagging.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a federal background investigation (Public Trust).
Preferred qualifications...
- Current Google Cloud Professional certification (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect, Cloud Network Engineer, or Cloud Security Engineer).
- Active Public Trust
- Experience supporting federal government programs, especially federal health.
- Knowledge of regulated environments: FedRAMP, HIPAA, NIST 800-53, CIS benchmarks.
- Understanding of zero trust principles, boundary protection, segmentation, and secure data flows.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure in addition to GCP.
- Container security, TLS/mTLS and PKI, and configuration management tools such as Ansible.
