OVERVIEW
 
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
 
Welocalize is seeking a passionate and culturally fluent Spanish linguist with deep knowledge of the automotive and technical sectors, as well as exceptional writing skills, to join our localization team. You’ll help shape compelling content and user experiences that resonate with Spanish-speaking audiences.
 
As a Product Linguist, you will review, adapt, and enhance a variety of content into native-level Spanish (Spain), ensuring an authentic tone and voice for a global platform. This role is a cornerstone of our Language Quality Program, requiring expertise in linguistic quality assurance, cultural adaptation, and collaboration with international teams.

Task Type: Translation, Copy Edit, MTPE
Tools: Client proprietary tools (training provided)
Workload: 5,000+
Assessment: Grammar + Creative/Localization task via platform (completed in one sitting)

MAIN DUTIES

  • Perform high-quality translation, MTPE, and copy editing tasks adhering to client-specific guidelines and timelines.
  • Ensure accurate and culturally appropriate localization of technical content related to automotive and commercial vehicles, including high-voltage systems, vehicle operations, and safety instructions.
  • Validate and implement corrections for QA check reports, adhering to specified terminology and style guides.
  • Conduct terminology and TM updates within the client’s CAT tools (Trados Studio 2019 or above, and Phrase in the future).
  • Respond promptly to linguistic queries, providing clear explanations and ensuring consistency across projects.
  • Deliver on-time, high-quality work while maintaining open communication with the project team.
  • Perform effective post-editing of machine-translated content, ensuring polished and natural results aligned with the source material.
  • Collaborate with team members to uphold linguistic quality and drive continuous improvement

REQUIREMENTS

  • Higher education in Translation, Linguistics, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proficiency in German (C2 level) and native-level fluency in Spanish (es-ES).
  • Expertise in automotive, electric vehicles, and technical content localization.
  • Proficiency in CAT tools.
  • Strong MTPE, terminology management, and QA validation skills.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving abilities.

SKILLS

  • Proven experience in technical translations with adherence to style guides and terminology.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines while ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • Familiarity with operational procedures, safety instructions, and legal/compliance content.
