Pay: $125000 - $140000 / year (base pay)

Location: Atlanta, GA, Raleigh, NC or San Jose, CA (in office approximately 1x / week)

Travel: approximately 10% - 30%

The Global AV Manager is a strategic and operational leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of audio-visual (AV) and hybrid event services across select sites across Cisco’s international portfolio. This role includes complete oversight of AV operations and support teams (including cross-trained technicians, content/media specialists, and support staff) to ensure consistent, world-class delivery of live and hybrid events. The Global AV Manager owns the AV budget, stakeholder relationships, vendor management, team development, and global standardization of AV workflows and systems. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams, optimize budgets, partner with executive stakeholders, and drive innovation in live and virtual event technology solutions.

Responsibilities

AV Team Management & Leadership

  • Directly manage, mentor, and develop a global team of AV professionals, including cross-trained roles covering audio, video, lighting, content/media, and hybrid support.
  • Define, implement, and uphold global AV standards, workflows, and best practices.
  • Oversee staffing and scheduling to ensure full coverage for business-critical events.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and professional development within the AV team.
  • Regularly assess staffing needs and lead recruitment or cross-training initiatives to address skill or coverage gaps.
  • Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and set clear objectives for team members.

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure flawless delivery of live, hybrid, and virtual events across multiple locations.
  • Maintain oversight of all audio, video, lighting, and streaming operations.
  • Establish and enforce robust troubleshooting and escalation processes for technical issues.
  • Lead continuous process improvement and efficiency initiatives across AV operations.
  • Oversee the implementation, documentation, and adherence to event-specific AV plans and diagrams.
  • Monitor real-time event operations, ensuring immediate resolution of critical AV issues and minimal disruption.
  • Develop and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess event success and team effectiveness.
  • Maintain transparent Master event calendar, inclusive of all on-site or hybrid meeting and events
  • Support business continuity and disaster recovery planning for AV operations globally.

Budget, Vendor, & Asset Management

  • Develop, manage, and optimize global AV budgets, including forecasting, spend tracking, and cost controls.
  • Negotiate contracts with AV suppliers, rental companies, and software/service vendors.
  • Oversee AV inventory, equipment lifecycle management, and routine maintenance procedures.
  • Approve and track expenditures related to AV technology, upgrades, and repairs.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies, equipment, and vendors to keep Cisco at the forefront of AV innovation.
  • Ensure proper asset tagging, auditing, and reporting for all AV-related resources.

Stakeholder Partnership

  • Act as the primary point of contact for Cisco’s global stakeholders, including senior leadership, facilities management, and IT.
  • Collaborate with event producers, communications teams, and external partners to understand event needs and deliver tailored AV solutions.
  • Gather feedback and analyze event performance to drive service enhancement and innovation.
  • Provide expert consultation on AV requirements and technical feasibility for large-scale or high-profile events.
  • Lead regular stakeholder update meetings, presenting AV performance metrics and project outcomes.
  • Develop and nurture trusted relationships with key stakeholders across different regions and business functions.

Technology & Innovation

  • Stay current with emerging AV and collaboration technologies; evaluate and implement relevant advancements.
  • Champion accessibility, inclusivity, and security best practices for all event types.
  • Support AV integration projects and office fit-outs in coordination with capital projects, IT, and design teams.
  • Promote the adoption of innovative solutions that enhance user experience and event engagement.
  • Pilot and assess new platforms and tools; lead the rollout of standardized solutions globally.
  • Create and maintain a roadmap for technology upgrades and replacements in partnership with Cisco’s IT team.

Documentation, Training & Compliance

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for AV policies, procedures, and incident response.
  • Design and deliver ongoing training programs to ensure AV staff are cross-trained and aligned with global standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, safety, and data privacy authorities.
  • Oversee the creation of knowledge bases, FAQs, and training materials for both AV staff and end-users.
  • Track and enforce compliance with relevant industry certifications, codes, and standards.
  • Conduct periodic audits of AV operations to verify adherence to policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in professional AV management within a global or multi-site environment.
  • Proven expertise in leading AV teams supporting live events, corporate environments, and hybrid/virtual event technologies.
  • Strong technical knowledge of AV systems, streaming platforms, conferencing solutions (e.g., Zoom, Teams, Webex), and content management workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, negotiate with vendors, and deliver on cost and quality objectives.
  • Superior troubleshooting, crisis management, and technical escalation experience.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills; confident interacting with senior stakeholders.
  • Highly organized, solution-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects with competing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • AV industry certifications (e.g., CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I), or formal training in audio engineering, video production, or related fields.
  • Experience with large enterprise environments, technology companies, or professional services settings.
  • Familiarity with global accessibility, data privacy, and safety regulations relevant to AV operations.
  • Project management certification or experience leading AV integration and capital projects.
While this role is majority remote, the successful candidate will need to be in-office 1-2 times per month and additionally as required by event calendar.

Estimated compensation for this position:

125,000.00 – 140,000.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
