The Global Sr. EHS Engineer is responsible for leading global Environmental, Health, and Safety programs that ensure regulatory compliance, reduce operational risk, and protect employees across Cepheid’s global operations. By partnering with site leadership and driving consistent, scalable EHS management systems, this position supports a strong safety culture and continuous improvement in alignment with Cepheid and Danaher business objectives.

This position reports to the Sr. Manager, Environmental Health & Safety and is part of the Environmental Health & Safety Department located in Lodi, CA and will be an on-site role.  

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Lead and implement global Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance and management systems in alignment with regulatory and company requirements
  • Develop, implement, and sustain global EHS programs that drive injury prevention, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement across operations
  • Manage and execute global EHS projects, partnering with site leaders to strengthen safety culture, awareness, and accountability
  • Interpret and assess Federal, state, and local EHS regulations to determine applicability and ensure compliance across facilities of responsibility
  • Oversee global environmental compliance programs and metrics, including hazardous waste, air permits, stormwater, chemical management, and spill prevention initiatives

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in field with 8+ years of work experience OR Master’s degree in field with 6+ years of work experience
  • Demonstrated experience leading and implementing global EHS compliance and management systems across multiple sites
  • Strong working knowledge of Federal, state, and local EHS regulations, with the ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements to business operations
  • Proven ability to manage complex, cross‑functional EHS projects and drive consistent program execution globally
  • Advanced proficiency in data analysis and reporting, including strong Excel skills to manage and analyze global EHS metrics

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

  • Ability to travel up to 25%, including domestic and international travel, with overnight stays as required
  • Ability to lift, move, or carry equipment up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform work involving repetitive arm and wrist motions

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Strong program and project management experience supporting global or multi‑site operations
  • Lean, Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification

The annual salary range for this role is $130,000 - $160,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.

We offer comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
