Lead sourcing strategy and supplier management for final assembly and packaging across hardware products. Drive supplier selection, contracts, negotiations, NPI support (EVT/DVT/PVT), cost optimization, supplier performance, and risk mitigation while partnering with engineering and operations.

Overview Amprius Technologies is a leader in advanced lithium-ion battery technology, delivering high-energy and high-power silicon-anode batteries for next-generation aerospace, defense, and mobility applications. We are seeking a senior Global Supply Manager to lead sourcing and supplier management for critical battery materials, components, and contract manufacturing partners. This role will own supply strategy from development through production, balancing cost, quality, capacity, technology readiness, and supply continuity across a global network. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong technical sourcing depth, sound commercial judgment, and experience operating in fast-moving, cross-functional environments.

Responsibilities

· Develop and execute global sourcing strategies for battery materials, cells, and contract manufacturing, with focus on supply assurance, regional redundancy, and risk mitigation.

· Lead supplier identification, evaluation, selection, and qualification in partnership with Engineering, Quality, and Operations.

· Own RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs, ensuring commercial terms are negotiated, documented, and completed before business is initiated, including NDAs, GTCs, pricing agreements, and related supply contracts.

· Negotiate piece price, tooling, capacity, and long-term supply agreements to achieve best total cost, quality, and delivery performance.

· Build and manage strategic supplier relationships, including business reviews, scorecards, corrective actions, dispute resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives.

· Develop should-cost models, cost forecasts, and total cost analyses to support sourcing decisions, negotiations, and cost-reduction roadmaps.

· Monitor market conditions, raw material trends, technology roadmaps, and geopolitical developments affecting battery materials and global supply availability.

· Partner with Product Development and Engineering from R&D through NPI and production ramp, including participation in design reviews, specification alignment, change control, and technical capability assessments.

· Assess supplier and contract manufacturer process capability, manufacturing readiness, quality systems, and scalability to support product and capacity requirements.

· Communicate key supply, cost, capacity, and quality risks to leadership and drive mitigation plans across internal and external stakeholders.

· Support inventory, allocation, and supply continuity strategies to reduce shortages, excess exposure, and operational disruption.

Qualifications

· Direct experience sourcing battery raw materials, energy storage components, specialty chemicals, or adjacent high-technology materials.

· Experience managing contract manufacturers and suppliers across multiple regions, including commercial negotiations, operational performance, and capacity planning.

· Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, supplier industrialization, quality systems, and technical specifications; able to engage credibly with engineering teams and suppliers on process capability and cost drivers.

· Demonstrated ability to build should-cost models, evaluate total cost of ownership, and negotiate complex commercial agreements.

· Proven track record operating as a self-starter in dynamic environments, making sound decisions with incomplete information, and driving issues to closure.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex supply issues clearly and concisely to cross-functional and executive audiences.

· Experience in lithium-ion batteries or battery materials strongly preferred.

· Fluency in English is required; professional proficiency in Korean preferred.

Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, Business, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.

· 7+ years of experience in global supply management, procurement, commodity management, or strategic sourcing in a technical manufacturing environment.

· Ability to travel internationally up to 25%.

Benefits

·       Comprehensive compensation package includes base salary + RSUs. Salary range for this role is $120,000 to $190,000. Base salary will be determined based on knowledge, experience, and education.

·       Health benefits include medical, dental and vision coverage.  Medical options of HMO and PPO plans.

·       Employer-funded Health Reimbursement Account (HRA). HSA compatible Medical Plan, FSA Options.

·       Pet Health Insurance (dog & cats)

·       Traditional and Roth 40l(k) Plans

·       Generous vacation leave starts with 3 weeks annual accrual. 10 paid holidays. Sick time off.
