SailPoint Technologies, Inc. is seeking an experienced Commercial Counsel who will focus on government contracts compliance and serve the interests of the corporation. You will provide advice to the commercial sales teams across SailPoint engaged in various government contracting types. The Attorney should have significant experience in the government marketplace managing government contracting.  You will play a critical role in ensuring that SailPoint operates ethically and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations in its government contracting activities. 

This position reports to the Vice President of Commercial Legal.

Essential Key Responsibilities/Job Summary:

  • Responsibility for advising clients and contracting/legal services supporting government customers to include US federal, state & local for SaaS and on-premise software.
  • Supports the full life cycle of contracting, Including, but not limited to, proposals, teaming agreements, contracting negotiations, and ensuring effective contract management to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations in government contracting activities
  • Advise on risk mitigation strategies and dispute resolution related to government contracts
  • Stay up to date with changes in government contracting laws and regulations

Education/Experience and Competencies:

  • Juris Doctor from an ABA approved law school and admittance to practice in the state where they reside.
  • 4-7 years (or equivalent) relevant government procurement position, law firm or in-house experience in a competitive government contracting environment.
  • Extensive Knowledge of government regulatory requirements, including the FAR, DFARS, and GSA.
  • Experience working with FedRAMP certification and compliance a plus.
  • Experience with SaaS and on-premise software contracts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to operate in a team environment and liaison between multiple cross functional teams.
  • Sound business judgement, and strategic, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Able to manage workload of multiple negotiations and assignments.

US Citizenship Requirements: 

U.S. citizenship is required due to contractual requirements. Applicants must also be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance. Continued employment is contingent upon successful completion of security processing.

Benefits and Compensation listed vary based on the location of your employment and the nature of your employment with SailPoint.

As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the SailPoint Corporate Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission, along with potential eligibility for equity participation. SailPoint maintains broad salary ranges for its roles to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect SailPoint’s differing products, industries, and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity. We estimate the base salary, for US-based employees, will be in this range from (min-mid-max, USD):

$139,300 - $199,000 - $258,700

Base salaries for employees based in other locations are competitive for the employee’s home location.
