Cohesity is currently looking to hire a Senior Manager of Government Affairs for its Government Relations group. The role will be based in Washington, DC.

The Government Relations team at Cohesity serves as the interface with the U.S. federal government and policy community. Its mission is to promote and protect Cohesity’s business interests by engaging policymakers, regulators, and industry influencers on issues that impact federal IT including government modernization, cybersecurity and AI.

HOW YOU'LL SPEND YOUR TIME HERE:
• Support federal government relations and public policy teams by working on a portfolio of legislative and regulatory initiatives and reporting on political and policy developments
• Develop relationships with external stakeholders in Congress and the Administration
• Collaborate and support federal advocacy related to Cohesity’s policy priorities
• Conduct research, support analysis, and contribute to team projects, deliverables, and presentationson a diverse range of legislative and policy topics
• Develop briefing materials for internal stakeholders on legislative and regulatory issues
• Develop and drive advocacy and outreach strategies before Congress on issues important to the business
• Engage with industry associations and third-party coalitions on relevant issues

The Team Core functions:
• Promote and protect Cohesity’s business interests by engaging policymakers and other policy influencers
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the company to drive the development of public policy positions
• Identify and conduct analyses on trending legislative, regulatory, and public policy issues that may impact the company
• Build and maintain relationships with members of Congress, administration officials, and key policy influencers (e.g., think tanks, industry associations)

WE'D LOVE TO TALK TO YOU IF YOU HAVE MANY OF THE FOLLOWING:
 5-10 years of professional experience in the legislative, policy, or related fields
• Direct experience working on Capitol Hill, regulatory agencies, or government affairs organizations

Direct experience working on federal IT issues such as IT modernization, defense or cyber policy

Experience in using public policy to grow market share for federal sales teams
• Understanding of the legislative, regulatory, and policymaking processes
• Strong writing, presentation, and communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support decision making.

The successful candidate will possess:
• Proven ability to self-direct work and work as part of a team in a dynamic, cross-functional environment
• An ability to develop and maintain political relationships
• An understanding of the legislative and regulatory process
• Strong legislative analysis skills
• Strong presentation and communication skills
• Excellent writing and research skills

Preferred Qualifications:
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently as well as in a team environment
• Experience working on cyber policy issues and the federal appropriations process
• Experience in a role with extensive writing, research, and legislative analysis responsibilities
• Security Clearance

Disclosure Pursuant to Applicable State Equal Pay Transparency Laws - This position has a starting pay range as listed below. Actual salary depends upon many factors, including a candidate’s skills, qualifications and experience, location, and salary expectations, and therefore a starting salary at the low end, high end, or even above the stated range may be offered. This position may also be eligible for bonus compensation, commission (if in a sales function), and/or equity grants. Additionally, full-time employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive benefits framework, including health and wellness benefits, vacation, paid holidays and refresh days, 401(k) retirement plan, life and disability insurance coverages, and other benefits the Company may offer from time to time.

Pay Range :

$158,400.00-$198,000.00

The compensation noted above is based on an annualized hourly rate assuming normal full-time employment.

In-Office Expectations
Cohesity employees who are within a reasonable commute (e.g. within a forty-five (45) minute average travel time) work out of our core offices 2-3 days a week of their choosing.
