Job Summary

The Graduate Electrical Engineer position is your chance to join a collaborative team and influence the design of efficient, healthy buildings for a sustainable future. Graduate role will be supported by the electrical local and national teams.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

 The role 
  • Responsible for preparing, reviewing, editing and delivering, any agreed calculation and/or technical deliverables.  
  • Responsible for preparing, reviewing, editing and delivering of any agreed documentation deliverables.  
  • Assist in the development of engineering services options and strategies and provide recommendations for cost effective solutions for optimised strategies.  
  • Participate in the development of business case development, options analysis and design of renewable energy generation, storage and power conditioning systems.  
  • Participate in the design development, application, evaluation, recommendation, and specification of engineered systems or products for building services and infrastructure project electrical systems.   
  • Ensuring that sufficient and timely project coordination and liaison occurs on appropriate engineering services related issues, and that agreement is reached to the satisfaction of all project stakeholders 
  • Ensuring all relevant documentation (eg. architectural site plans, background documentation) is organised in a timely manner prior to scheduled meeting times 
  • Following up on any agreed documentation/advice deliverables subsequent to site visits 
  • Attending and performing appropriate site tasks with regard to personal safety, including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and ‘White Card’ training as required.  
  • Applying for early accreditation and registration with agreed relevant professional institutions and organisations as deemed relevant by management  
 
What you bring to the team:  
  • Australian Qualifications Framework - bachelor's degree, associated with Electrical Engineering specialisation 
  • Basic knowledge of REVIT and 3d BIM software 
  • Keeping abreast of changes to industry standards and regulations.  
  • Ensuring that Continuous Professional Development (CPD) records and work histories (via CV documents) are kept up to date as milestones are achieved. 
  • Adopting a continuous improvement and can-do attitude 
  • Excellent analytical and reporting skills - the ability to analyse various sources of information, and clearly communicate these complex ideas with less technical stakeholders 
  • A collaborative nature – keen to share knowledge with the team and drive excellence across a range of projects.  
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel 
  • Strong report writing, communication and consulting skills  
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills when working with clients and colleagues, supported by clear communication and effective coaching abilities
