Reports to: Head of Group Sales

Location: Remote (United States or Canada)

About the Role

Backcountry Group Sales connects our brands to the business community, serving corporate, medical, university, military, and other industry groups. This B2B program is growing and needs a driven account manager to help scale revenue and client relationships.

As Group Sales Account Manager, you will own the full sales cycle from lead development to close, building and managing a pipeline of group accounts while meeting monthly and quarterly revenue targets. Within your first six months, you will have established a reliable book of business, grown the inherited portfolio, and developed repeatable processes for prospect outreach and conversion.

This is a lean team. You will own a lot, move fast, and make decisions with full end-to-end responsibility.

What You'll Do

  • Generate revenue through outbound email, phone outreach, and in-person meetings with prospective group accounts
  • Proactively anticipate customer needs to manage and grow each account in your portfolio through scalable, personal interactions
  • Drive prospects through every stage of the sales cycle, from initial lead development to close, by identifying needs and overcoming objections
  • Build repeatable systems to develop sales into accounts and accounts into recurring revenue
  • Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales goals and expectations
  • Build and maintain accurate records of all customers and prospects in the CRM and ERP
  • Work directly with Backcountry vendor partners to coordinate inventory needs for group orders
  • Participate in ongoing procedural and sales training sessions to sharpen skills and stay current on product knowledge
  • Represent Backcountry values in every client interaction and internal collaboration

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of 1 year of account management experience
  • Experience in B2B or group/corporate sales
  • Experience with CRM, ERP, and/or outbound platforms
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • A degree of formal sales training (Sandler, MEDDIC, etc.) or equivalent account management experience
  • Goal-driven mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service
  • Demonstrated ability to stay motivated and manage your own pipeline independently
  • Coachable — open to feedback and eager to improve

Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest in building a long-term career in sales
  • Familiarity with outdoor, athletic, or lifestyle brands

Why Join

The people who do best here are builders. They take ownership, move fast, and want to see the direct impact of their work.

  • Cross-Functional Impact: Your work touches vendor partnerships, marketing, and fulfillment — giving you visibility across the business and a direct line between your effort and revenue growth.
  • Skill Building: Structured sales training, hands-on coaching from your manager, and exposure to a modern B2B sales motion will accelerate your career.
  • Ownership: You will own your pipeline end-to-end — from prospecting to close — with the autonomy to shape how Group Sales scales.
  • Competitive Benefits: Paid time off policies, RRSP match, medical, dental, and vision coverage, a variety of supplemental benefit options, and employee discounts across our portfolio of brands.
