The Growth Associate will run experiments to identify effective marketing channels, document results, collaborate with teams, and create repeatable playbooks to optimize growth.
Tonic is growing fast and we’re just getting started. Join our Growth Team at a pivotal moment, where a few smart moves can 10x our reach over the next year. We’re looking for a hungry, creative, and data-driven builder who’s excited to test ideas, run fast experiments, and scale what works.
🎻 About Tonic
Tonic is a social platform built through the act of sharing live music practice — where every session inspires someone to listen, respond, and play in return.
Most music platforms today are built for consumption. You listen passively, maybe like or comment, and move on.
Tonic flips that model. It’s not a “social feature” bolted onto music — it’s a social fabric built through the act of making music itself.
Musicians on Tonic go live in “Studios” to share their practice, get feedback, and unlock performance opportunities. It’s part community, part game, and completely unlike anything else in music tech.
With 300,000+ musicians in 125+ countries, we’re building the future of music — one practice session at a time.
✅ About the Role
As our Growth Lead, you’ll be an early member of Tonic’s founding team, playing a key role in helping us identify and scale new marketing channels. You’ll run experiments, learn what works (and what doesn’t), and help systematize wins into repeatable playbooks.
You’ll work closely with Ray (Tonic’s co-founder), alongside a powerhouse growth team — including leaders and alums out of Duolingo, TikTok, and Google.
📌 What You’ll Do
You’ll own user acquisition and turn Tonic’s different growth levers — influencer marketing, paid amplification, referrals, and partnerships — into one cohesive ecosystem that feeds itself. You’ll study user behavior, spot patterns in how musicians discover and share Tonic, and build experiments that turn those insights into scalable growth.
Experimentation & R&D
• Launch and test 0→1 experiments across influencer, paid, and referral channels
• Identify and validate new scalable growth loops
• Analyze early signals to decide what to double down on vs. kill quickly
Execution & Collaboration
• Own timelines and deliverables for multi-channel campaign launches
• Work with product, design, and influencer teams to align messaging and targeting
• Shape the narrative arc for each campaign — tailoring the story and CTA to different audiences
Tracking & Optimization
• Monitor CAC, conversions, and retention across initiatives
• Propose and implement A/B tests
• Create light dashboards or reports to track impact
Playbooks & Delegation
• Turn validated experiments into repeatable playbooks
• Help manage the rest of the Tonic Growth team + contractors as needed
• Continuously evolve proven systems + identify when a channel or process is ready for its next phase and drive it from experimentation to scale
✨ What Success Looks Like (First 3-6 Months)
• Identify and validate 2–3 new scalable acquisition channels (beyond influencer)
• Scale at least one channel to 2–3× current growth while maintaining healthy unit economics
• Translate early learnings into cross-channel loops that reinforce Tonic’s overall growth engine
• Operate with autonomy — prioritize experiments, allocate budgets, and track performance without heavy oversight
🔍 What We’re Looking For
• 3+ years in a growth, marketing, or startup role with proven user acquisition results
• Deeply metrics-driven — comfortable running experiments, analyzing data, and making fast calls
• AI-native mindset — knows how to leverage modern tools (ChatGPT, Midjourney, etc.) to accelerate output
• Hungry for growth — both in personal development and in scaling numbers
• Strong sense of ownership, curiosity, and creative problem-solving
• Comfortable working across Tonic’s growth stack (Amplitude, Meta Ads, Notion, Sheets, AI tools, etc.)
Bonus: experience in music, creator tools, or consumer social
🌱 Why You Might Love This Role
• You’re excited to build a product that helps people connect through music and find meaning and belonging in the process.
• You thrive in fast-paced, 0→1 environments where experimentation beats perfection.
• You want real ownership — from pitching ideas to launching and scaling results.
• You’re a builder who can blend creativity with analysis to make smart bets and ship fast.
• You care about working with a tight, humble, high-performing team that values clarity, speed, and impact.
