About LightSource

LightSource is building the next-generation operating system for Procurement. Sales has Salesforce. HR has Workday. Procurement is next. We build SaaS software that helps procurement leaders discover vendors, manage negotiations, and buy intelligently.

Our team is small but growing quickly, backed by top-tier investors and already winning enterprise customers. We're tackling a massive market filled with complex, high-impact problems. The team includes people who've helped build companies like Tesla, Waymo, McKinsey, and Google X. We hire exceptional people, move quickly, give direct feedback, expect excellence, and have a lot of fun doing it.

About the Role

We're looking for our first Growth & Demand Generation Manager — someone excited to help build the marketing function from the ground up. This isn't a typical demand gen role. You won't be handed a rigid playbook — you'll help write it. You'll work closely with leadership and our Account Executives to build the inbound and outbound marketing motion that fuels our next phase of growth.

The right person will combine analytical rigor, creative instincts, and a builder's mentality to drive pipeline from procurement leaders at some of the world's most interesting companies. You will be the architect of our demand engine and help set the foundation for how LightSource goes to market.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Build the demand generation playbook from scratch — AEO, paid, lifecycle campaigns, ABM programs, and the attribution stack that shows what's actually working

  • Own top-of-funnel pipeline generation and be directly accountable for MQLs and sourced pipeline

  • Partner closely with sales to define ICP tiers, score inbound leads, and design tight MQL-to-SQL handoffs

  • Build and run account-based marketing campaigns targeting key verticals: manufacturing, industrials, and supply chain-heavy sectors

  • Manage and optimize budget allocation across channels, continuously testing and cutting what doesn't perform

  • Own HubSpot workflows, landing pages, and campaign operations end to end

  • Coordinate with content and PMM to ensure campaigns are backed by strong messaging and relevant assets

  • Help hire and mentor future marketing hires as the team grows

About You

You're not looking to maintain someone else's system — you want to build your own. You've been a top performer and want more ownership. You enjoy constructing demand engines from scratch and thrive in environments where initiative matters more than process. You're disciplined with metrics but lead with creativity. You might be a great fit if you:

  • Have 3–5 years of experience in demand gen or growth marketing, ideally at a B2B SaaS or data-driven company

  • Have a track record of running paid campaigns on LinkedIn and Google, including budget management and optimization

  • Are comfortable with HubSpot — you know how to build workflows, not just use templates

  • Have strong analytical instincts: you track CAC, MQL volume, and pipeline sourced, and can diagnose why numbers move

  • Can write clear, direct copy when needed and brief agencies or contractors effectively

  • Thrive in fast-moving startup environments with high autonomy and high expectations

  • Want to grow into leadership and help build a team over time

  • Value direct feedback and continuous improvement

Comp & Benefits

  • Top-of-market base compensation with meaningful early-employee equity

  • Platinum-level healthcare, 100% covered for employees

  • Dental and vision, 100% covered

  • 401(k) program

  • Unlimited vacation and sick days

  • Free food (3 meals a day, if desired) in office locations

  • Frequent team offsites, events, dinners, and weekend trips

Bonus Points

  • Located in (or willing to relocate to) San Francisco, Boulder/Denver, or Seattle

  • Prior experience in industrial tech, supply chain, or manufacturing SaaS

  • Familiarity with ABM tools (6sense, Demandbase, or similar) and intent data platforms

  • Experience building first-party audience strategies

  • You can code in Rust (kidding... unless?)
