Growth Lead (SEO)

At daydream, we’re building the future of growth marketing. Our mission is simple: companies should pay for outcomes, not tools. To make that real, we’ve built a vertically integrated software and services stack that delivers exceptional growth results; fast, repeatable, and reliable. Today, we execute AI- enabled SEO playbooks for companies like Replit, Clay, and Rho. Tomorrow, we’ll expand across every major growth channel.

Founded in San Francisco, we’ve raised over $20M from First Round Capital, Basis Set Ventures, WndrCo, and angels including the growth leaders from Notion, Airtable, Webflow, and Dropbox. Our investors also include operators like Lenny Rachitsky and Eli Schwartz, author of Product-Led SEO. We’re backed by people who know growth inside and out, and we’re just getting started.

We’re hiring a Growth Lead to own strategy and execution for a portfolio of AI- enabled SEO and GEO programs. You’ll act as an embedded extension of our clients’ growth teams; owning results end- to- end, from keyword strategy and content architecture to reporting and optimization. You’ll combine technical depth with sharp client instincts, helping startups scale search visibility, traffic, and qualified pipeline through daydream’s automated growth stack. This role is ideal for someone who’s led complex SEO programs or run growth operations at high- velocity companies, and who can translate technical systems into clear business outcomes. You won’t just run campaigns; you’ll help define how growth is engineered in the AI era.

Please note: This is a hybrid (3 times a week) role at our Hayes Valley office in San Francisco. For candidates outside the Bay Area, we offer paid relocation.

What you’ll do
  • Lead end -to- end SEO and GEO strategy and execution for a portfolio of clients.

  • Act as a forward- deployed growth partner inside client organizations, driving measurable outcomes.

  • Use daydream’s automation systems and playbooks to generate, refine, and optimize content at scale.

  • Track performance metrics, diagnose issues early, and adapt strategies to sustain momentum.

  • Uphold quality standards across content, technical, and analytical deliverables.

  • Partner cross-functionally with Engineering and Product to refine workflows and feedback loops.

  • Communicate clearly and proactively with clients and internal teams to ensure alignment and confidence.

What success looks like
  • Delivering measurable improvements in organic visibility, traffic, and conversions across your portfolio.

  • Earning trust with marketing and growth leaders through clarity, speed, and ROI-driven storytelling.

  • Building repeatable systems for analysis, optimization, and reporting that scale beyond individual accounts.

  • Acting as the internal voice of the customer—helping shape daydream’s platform, playbooks, and service delivery.

  • Bringing 4–7 years of hands-on SEO or growth marketing experience, including 2–3 years in a client-facing or agency environment.

  • Fluently connecting technical concepts (indexation, architecture, schema, automation) to business outcomes (traffic, conversion, pipeline).

  • Thriving in a fast-moving, early-stage environment where ownership and adaptability matter most.

This role won’t be a fit if you
  • Prefer to specialize narrowly in one area of SEO instead of owning strategy and results end-to-end.

  • Expect rigid structures or mature processes rather than helping build them.

  • See yourself primarily as a consultant rather than an embedded operator.

  • Struggle to communicate directly or manage multiple clients with autonomy

Compensation & Benefits
  • $120K– $140K base salary + performance- based variable comp + equity

  • Full health, dental, and vision coverage

  • Two company offsites per year (our most recent offsite was in Hawaii 🏝️)

  • Unlimited PTO

  • Monthly team dinners, paid lunches, and transportation stipends

San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area attracts more startup funding than any other region in the world. Home to Stanford University and UC Berkeley, leading VC firms and several of the world’s most valuable companies, the Bay Area is the place to go for anyone looking to make it big in the tech industry. That said, San Francisco has a lot to offer beyond technology thanks to a thriving art and music scene, excellent food and a short drive to several of the country’s most beautiful recreational areas.

Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 365,500; 13.9% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, Greylock Partners, Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins
  • Research Centers and Universities: Stanford University; University of California, Berkeley; University of San Francisco; Santa Clara University; Ames Research Center; Center for AI Safety; California Institute for Regenerative Medicine
