Growth Marketing ManagerPosition Overview

We’re looking for a Growth Marketing Manager, Retention & Acquisition to join the Blenders Eyewear team. This is an in-person role based at our San Diego headquarters. We believe close collaboration is important to this position, so we’re looking for someone who is excited to work alongside the team in the office.

This is a hands-on role for someone who loves both sides of growth marketing: executing great campaigns and digging into the numbers to understand what’s working, what isn’t, and what we should do next.

You’ll own the day-to-day execution of our email and SMS programs in Attentive, partnering closely with the Director of Growth Marketing on retention strategy, campaign planning, customer journeys, testing, and optimization.

You’ll also help us grow beyond our core acquisition channels. You’ll manage and test channels like CTV, TikTok Shop, and other emerging platforms, helping us determine where the next opportunities for growth are.

We’re looking for someone who is comfortable getting into the weeds. You’re organized, detail-oriented, analytical, and curious. When a number moves, you want to know why. When you find something interesting, you keep digging. And when there’s a new platform, tool, or tactic worth exploring, you’re excited to learn it.

This is a role for someone who wants to build, analyze, test, learn, and keep getting better.

Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesLifecycle & Retention
  • Own the hands-on execution of email and SMS campaigns in Attentive, including campaign builds, segmentation, scheduling, testing, QA, and deployment.
  • Build, maintain, and optimize automated customer journeys across the lifecycle.
  • Partner with the Director of Growth Marketing on retention strategy, campaign calendars, customer segmentation, and priorities.
  • Analyze email, SMS, and journey performance to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and execute an ongoing testing roadmap across messaging, offers, audiences, timing, creative, and customer journeys.
  • Monitor customer behavior and retention trends to help identify opportunities to increase repeat purchase and customer lifetime value.
  • Maintain a high standard of accuracy and QA across all campaigns.
Growth & Emerging Channels
  • Manage upper-funnel video and CTV campaigns, including campaign execution, budget management, reporting, and optimization.
  • Support testing of new growth channels such as Reddit and other emerging platforms.
  • Build thoughtful testing plans for new channels and tactics, defining what success looks like and determining whether opportunities should be scaled.
  • Stay current on changes in the digital marketing landscape and proactively bring new ideas, platforms, tools, and tactics to the team.
Analytics & Optimization
  • Own regular reporting across your channels and translate performance into clear insights and recommendations.
  • Go beyond topline reporting to understand why performance is changing.
  • Dig into campaign, audience, creative, product, customer, and channel-level data to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Be fluent in the metrics that drive ecommerce growth, including CAC/nCAC, ROAS, MER, CVR, AOV, CTR, CPC, CPM, retention, repeat purchase behavior, and lifecycle-specific metrics.
  • Turn analysis into action: identify the opportunity, develop a hypothesis, test it, measure the result, and apply what we learn.
Skills & Competencies
  • 4–7 years of experience in growth, lifecycle, retention, CRM, performance marketing, or a related ecommerce marketing role.
  • Strong hands-on experience with email and SMS marketing platforms. Experience with Attentive is highly preferred.
  • Experience building and optimizing automated lifecycle journeys.
  • Strong analytical skills and a genuine interest in understanding the story behind the numbers.
  • Fluency in digital marketing and ecommerce performance metrics.
  • Experience managing or supporting paid media or other customer acquisition channels.
  • Comfortable working directly inside marketing platforms. You don't need to hand off execution to get things done.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple campaigns, deadlines, and priorities at once.
  • Strong QA instincts and an eye for the small details that can make or break a campaign.
  • Naturally curious. You ask questions, investigate performance, and look for opportunities without waiting for someone to tell you where to look.
  • Comfortable learning new tools and channels quickly, even when there isn't an established playbook.
  • A test-and-learn mindset. You don't need every experiment to win, but you want every experiment to teach us something.
You'll Thrive Here If...
  • You like being close to the work.
  • You can zoom out and understand the strategy, then zoom all the way in to figure out why a number moved.
  • You don't just report that performance was up or down. You want to understand what drove it and what we should do about it.
  • You're the person who notices the small thing everyone else missed.
  • You're excited by a blank slate. If we decide to test a new channel next month, your first instinct is to learn everything you can about it and figure out how we should approach it.
  • And most importantly, you're always learning. Digital marketing changes quickly, and we want someone who is excited to change with it.
