About The Role

We are looking for an experienced marketer with a passion for mobile marketing, mobile growth, as well as news and content discovery. This role will be responsible for shaping and executing paid growth strategies in the US. Our charter is to drive profitable acquisition of users across platforms and marketing channels (social ads, in-app mobile ads, radio and more) - and to grow the SmartNews brand in the US using a multi-million dollar annual budget.

You will work very closely with a cross functional team of engineers, product managers, data scientists, and creative designers. We are looking for a candidate who is able to work with multiple stakeholders to develop data driven insights, propose marketing test campaigns, build a roadmap and operationalize it. This role requires managing by influence, data-driven thinking and driving measurable change while keeping an eye on engaging ad formats in the media space.

Our paid marketing team is very tightly integrated with data scientists and engineers. In this role you will work closely with them to identify behaviors and performance trends that will influence our campaign strategy and operations. In addition you will be partnering with our creative design team to optimize our ad creative testing roadmap and inform the US brand. Overall we’re looking for someone who is passionate for learning and will feel comfortable working with multiple stakeholders across creative and analytical teams. 

Responsibilities
  • Hybrid role with 2 days in office and 3 days remote
  • Build, test, and optimize user acquisition campaigns (e.g. Facebook, Google, and many others)
  • Drive strategy and manage user acquisition agencies, creative production and testing, and ensure the delivery of high impact, measurable results
  • Provide a strategic business and partnership perspective to the product, operations, business development, and sales teams.
  • Own & deeply understand KPIs and be accountable for growth’s role in reaching those goals
  • Speak confidently to the health of the business, regularly joining business reviews
  • Drive operational rigor throughout the business, connecting the dots, and making key decisions based on data analysis to execute against the growth strategy

Requirements

Minimum requirements

  • User Acquisition Experience driving Mobile App Installs in the US.
  • 2 - 5 years experience in mobile user acquisition at scale on a B2C mobile app with demonstrated understanding of core metrics such as CPA, CPM, ARPU, Retention, LTV, etc.
  • Experience executing ROI-driven campaigns on Facebook Ads, Google UAC, Apple Search, and Programmatic/DSP buying with annual spend exceeding $300K 
  • Highly analytical, ability to implement A/B tests, build growth forecasts, regression testing, incremental analysis and more. SQL & Tableau knowledge is a plus.


Nice to have experiences/skills

  • Passion for building habitual engagement among millions of consumers.
  • Ability to clearly articulate business requirements, track ROI, and present success to Senior Executive Management Teams
  • Familiar with ad attribution platforms / measurement partners like Adjust or Appsflyer
  • Familiar with ad creative design formats + best practices for online marketing platforms and is comfortable with managing design agencies/contractors to produce ad creatives.
