Company Overview

Promise modernizes how government agencies and utilities support people in financial difficulty. We build technology that makes it simple for residents to receive benefits, engage with assistance programs, set up flexible payment plans, and stay on track—while helping agencies increase efficiency, recover revenue, and deliver services with dignity. Our mission is to transform public systems so they work better for everyone, especially the most vulnerable.

Our team includes experts from companies like Palantir, Google, Stripe , and esteemed government leaders. We work hard and believe deeply in what we do. We're looking for excellent people to build innovative, resilient technology.

Backed by over $50 million in funding from top investors – such as Reid Hoffman, Howard Schultz, Michael Seibel, Y Combinator, 8VC, The General Partnership, First Round Capital, Kapor Capital, XYZ Ventures, and Bronze Investments – Promise has been recognized as one of Fast Company's "World's Most Innovative Companies of 2022,” “Forbes Next Billion-Dollar Startups 2024,” and Y Combinator’s #1 GovTech startup.

Most RevOps roles hand you a broken CRM and ask you to fix it. This isn't that.

Promise is building the infrastructure that helps 80+ million people access government benefits, payment plans, and essential services. We're growing fast into federal, state, local, and utility accounts — and we need someone to build the GTM operating system that makes that scale possible.

You'll be the person who builds RevOps zero to one: the tooling, the data model, the forecasting logic, the playbooks, the handoffs, and the feedback loops. You'll work with AI natively — not as a gimmick, but as actual leverage — and you'll move faster because of it.

If you've been waiting for a role where you can architect something real, with a team that ships, for a mission that matters, this is it.

WHAT YOU'LL BUILD

You'll add real velocity to how GTM operates. That means:

  • Stand up and maintain the GTM ops stack: CRM architecture, pipeline hygiene, forecasting methodology, quota coverage, and compensation logic — built clean from day one

  • Build AI-assisted workflows that compress the time between signal and action: targeting lists for sales reps, progress reminders and tracking, deal summaries, renewal risk flags, and next-best-action nudges that your reps actually use

  • Create the Deal Desk and RFP response infrastructure for complex public-sector procurement — you'll reduce deal friction and cycle time on deals that move slowly by design

  • Map and maintain ICP segmentation across federal, state, local, and utility accounts so Sales, CS, and Marketing are always working from the same playbook

  • Build dashboards that give every GTM leader a real-time, honest view of pipeline, ARR, retention, and funnel health

  • Instrument the full funnel: marketing automation, lead capture, lead-to-opportunity handoffs, CS health scores, and expansion tracking

  • Partner with Finance on pricing models, ROI frameworks, and packaging decisions that reflect the economics of government deals

  • Support and sharpen pipeline reviews and forecast calls with rigor — MEDDIC, BANT, or whatever framework actually fits; you'll help adapt it to how Promise sells

  • Earn trust across Sales, CS, Finance, and Product by making everyone's job easier — great ops people are the ones everyone wants in the room

WHAT YOU BRING

We care about what you've built and how fast you can build. Not your years.

  • 4–6+ years in RevOps, GTM Ops, or a related function — with real zero-to-one experience, not just inheriting someone else's systems

  • You've stood up a CRM, built a forecasting model, and designed a compensation plan — hands-on, not as a project manager watching someone else do it

  • You work AI-natively: you use LLMs, automation, and AI-assisted tooling as a force multiplier across research, writing, analysis, and workflow design

  • You can write a SQL query, build a dashboard, and present findings to a leadership team — comfortable operating across the full analytical stack

  • You understand enterprise or government sales motions: long procurement cycles, multi-stakeholder deals, procurement vehicles, and the nuances of public-sector renewal dynamics

  • Seller's instinct — you've spent enough time with sales teams to know what actually helps them close vs. what slows them down

  • High ambiguity tolerance: you can structure a problem before all the information is available and make a call

  • You move fast. You ship scrappy when scrappy is right, and you build to last when it matters

WHY PROMISE

We are one of Fast Company's World's Most Innovative Companies, a Forbes Next Billion-Dollar Startup, and Y Combinator's #1 GovTech company. We're backed by Reid Hoffman, Howard Schultz, Michael Seibel, 8VC, First Round Capital, and others who know what category-defining looks like.

Our team comes from Palantir, Google, Stripe, and top government institutions. We work hard and we believe in what we're building — improving how millions of people access services isn't the tagline, it's the actual job.

How We Support Our People
  • 100% paid health coverage

  • Generous PTO and sick leave

  • Lunch, snacks, and coffee provided

  • Company retreats

  • Hybrid Work: We deeply value in-person collaboration and are in-office or on-site at least four days a week.
