Wordsmith

Wordsmith is building the legal operations platform for in-house teams, and we are growing fast.

We believe in-house legal is becoming one of the most important functions in the AI era. Every business is moving faster, but legal work is still too often scattered across inboxes, chats, documents, and disconnected systems.

Wordsmith brings that work into one system. Requests come in from across the business, AI agents handle the routine, lawyers stay in control where judgment matters, and every step is captured as work happens.

We are built for in-house legal, not law firms. Our goal is to help legal teams move faster, reduce unnecessary external counsel spend, and become a function the business can run with.

More than 500 companies, including Financial Times, Safelite, Trip.com, Canva, Starling, and Sage, use Wordsmith. Backed by $100M from Index Ventures, General Catalyst, Highland Europe, and others, we are building one of the defining companies in legal AI.

The Role

We’re hiring a GTM Recruiter to build the team that takes our product to market.

This is not a coordination role. You’ll own hiring across Sales, Marketing, Partnerships, and Customer Success in the US.

You’ll work directly with commercial leadership, shape hiring plans, and drive processes end to end. You’ll be expected to push on briefs, raise the bar, and move quickly.

What you’ll do
  • Own GTM hiring across the US

  • Hire across roles including AEs, SDRs, Sales Engineers, Customer Success, Partnerships, and Marketing

  • Partner closely with commercial leaders to define roles, structure teams, and align on hiring plans

  • Build strong pipelines through proactive sourcing and outreach

  • Run high-quality end-to-end processes, from kick-off to offer

  • Maintain a high bar on candidate quality and experience

  • Improve hiring playbooks, interview design, and overall recruiting systems as we scale

What we’re looking for
  • Experience hiring GTM roles in high-growth B2B SaaS environments

  • Strong track record placing high-quality commercial talent

  • Good judgement on talent — you know what “great” looks like and hold the line

  • Comfortable challenging hiring managers and shaping briefs

  • High ownership — you take responsibility for outcomes, not just activity

  • Able to operate at pace and manage multiple roles without losing quality

  • Based in New York

How we work

We’re an in-office team in New York. We work together because it helps us move faster, make better decisions, and stay aligned. You should expect to be in the office as your default.

This is a high ownership environment. You won’t be handed perfect briefs or fully built processes. Part of the role is shaping both.

We move quickly and expect a high standard. The people who do well here are proactive, direct, and focused on outcomes.

This won’t suit someone looking for a narrow execution role or a highly structured environment.

What you can expect
  • Direct access to commercial leadership and real influence on how teams are built

  • Ownership of a critical function as we scale in the US

  • A fast-moving environment with clear impact from your work

  • Competitive compensation and meaningful equity

Why Wordsmith

We’re building in a market with real demand, strong momentum, and clear product value.

Hiring is a core lever for how we scale, and this role sits at the centre of that.

If you want to move beyond running processes and actually shape a commercial organisation, this is a strong place to do it.

  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
