Are you ready to identify, create and drive business opportunities that strengthen the Angry Birds IP globally and bring joy to millions of fans worldwide? We're looking for a Head of Business Development to lead our growth strategies, build meaningful external partnerships, and expand the reach of our beloved IP! 


In this role, you’ll build partnership strategies  shaping exciting new game deals, seek new collaborations and expand our market reach. You’ll collaborate closely with our internal game and transmedia teams, co-development partners, and SEGA colleagues to unlock new revenue opportunities together.


You will have impact and fun at work by:

  • Shaping partnership strategies across growth platforms for Rovio like Apple Arcade, Amazon Game Night, Netflix,  Epic, Meta and Roblox, and into Console/PC

  • Securing exciting Angry Birds IP licensing partnerships to expand the reach of our games portfolio and bring Angry Birds to life in other world-class gaming IPs.

  • Sourcing and negotiating new commercial deals that expand our game portfolio and revenue from growth markets like China.

  • Tracking market trends to share helpful insights that guide our long-term growth plans.

  • Prioritizing our deal pipeline with Rovio leadership and Sega colleagues to focus on high-impact projects.

  • Leading and mentoring a team - one direct report to start and projects crewed by Sega - to foster a supportive and high-performing team.

Experience and skills we are looking for:

  • Extensive experience in business development, partnerships, or licensing within gaming, entertainment, or tech.

  • Track record of closing high value agreements through building trust and strong negotiation skills.

  • Experience in generating leads and managing complex projects and a structured deal pipeline.

  • Strategic thinking combined with an outcome-focused and resilient approach.

  • People leadership skills in guiding, supporting, and developing team members.

  • Strong knowledge of the iOS and Android marketplace and a passion for the mobile gaming sector.

  • Fluent in English with clear, comfortable communication skills to navigate across different cultures and time zones.

It would be nice if you also have the following skills:

  • Established relationships with platform owners and major IP licensors.

  • Experience with PC, console, or cross-platform co-development deals.

  • Familiarity with the SEGA or Rovio ecosystem or working within a global, multi-region group.

  • Additional language skills are an advantage.
