Our Driver may be autonomous, but Waymo’s finances are steered by experts like you. The Finance and Accounting group manages all aspects of our finances and serves as trusted advisors for all our strategic and enterprise endeavors. Along with managing compilation of our financial statements, looking after our cash and overseeing compliance, we partner closely with the business in overseeing company wide resource allocation, developing cutting edge compensation initiatives and generating detailed financial analyses to drive the business forward. We also develop advanced capital strategies to support the company’s short- and long-term future.
 
This role follows a hybrid work schedule and reports to our CFO.
 
This role will oversee several corporate finance areas:
  • Investor Relations: Act as a primary point of contact for the investment community; Develop and execute a comprehensive IR strategy; Manage inquiries and maintain relationships with investors; Gather and synthesize investor feedback to inform strategy; Monitor market conditions, performance of AV ecosystem, and industry trends; Manage reporting and communication with investors
  • Capital Markets: Lead fundraising roadmap and activities, inclusive of equity (primary and secondary) and debt; Partner with Waymo executive and Alphabet Treasury, as applicable, on transactions
  • Deal Finance:  Closely collaborate with executive leadership, corporate development, legal, finance (accounting and tax) and operational teams to drive successful transactions - business development, M&A, joint ventures, etc. - to assess and unlock deal value; Develop and maintain complex financial valuation models (DCF, comparable companies, accretion/dilution) to assess strategic opportunities, including deal structuring (pricing, earn-outs)
  • Finance Transformation: Define a clear vision for the future of finance, aligning digital initiatives with overall business objectives; Act as a primary liaison between finance leadership, IT partners, and external vendors to ensure cohesive project execution and change management; acti as a force multiplier to increase the  productivity and organizational impact across Finance and Corporate Services
  • Ad hoc:  Guide key corporate decisions by performing complex financial analysis and modeling using financial data and independent/external research; Prepare and present comprehensive analyses and presentations for senior leadership
 
 You Have:
  • Minimum of 10-12 years experience in at least two of the following areas: Investment Banking, Corporate/Business Development, Corporate Finance, Consulting or Corporate Strategy
  • Expert analysis skills including financial modeling; a deep interest in analyzing data with the ability to distill trends and provide principled recommendations 
  • Familiarity and execution experience with: a wide range of transaction types and ability to evaluate the benefits and risks of different transaction types and deal structures; strategy, due diligence and valuation, deal structuring, negotiation, and integration; and other unique structuring/restructuring arrangements including Joint Ventures
  • Excellent communication, influencing and interpersonal skills and strong executive presence with an ability to present thoughtful input to controversial decision making. Persistence to move a principled deal through execution, and the courage to cease a deal that no longer makes sense for the business.

We Prefer:

  • MBA with a technical or quantitative undergraduate degree 
  • Capital markets expertise, including experience working with external stakeholders such as investment banks and a diverse set of investors

The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the role location or, if the role can be performed remote, the specific salary range for your preferred location, during the hiring process. 

Waymo employees are also eligible to participate in Waymo’s discretionary annual bonus program, equity incentive plan, and generous Company benefits program, subject to eligibility requirements.
