About Us

Foundation is developing the future of general purpose robotics with the goal to address the labor shortage.

Our mission is to create advanced robots that can operate in complex environments, reducing human risk in conflict zones and enhancing efficiency in labor-intensive industries.

We are on the lookout for extraordinary engineers and scientists to join our team.

Your previous experience in robotics isn't a prerequisite — it's your talent and determination that truly count.

We expect that many of our team members will bring diverse perspectives from various industries and fields. We are looking for individuals with a proven record of exceptional ability and a history of creating things that work.

Our Culture

We like to be frank and honest about who we are, so that people can decide for themselves if this is a culture they resonate with. Please read more about our culture here https://foundation.bot/culture.
Why You Should Join

  • You like working in person with a team in San Francisco.
  • You deeply believe that this is the most important mission for humanity and needs to happen yesterday.
  • You are highly technical - regardless of the role you are in. We are building technology; you need to understand technology well.
  • You care about aesthetics and design inside out. If it's not the best product ever, it bothers you, and you need to “fix” it.
  • You don't need someone to motivate you; you get things done.

Why are We Hiring for this Role:

We’re looking for our first Head of Communications, a critical role for a rapid scaling company. This role is for someone with storytelling in their bones. You won’t just have the opportunity to tell Foundation's story, you’ll be the reason everyone’s telling it too.

What You’ll Do:

  • Command the narrative: share Foundation’s momentum, technical depth, and success in shipping general-purpose humanoid robots.
  • Tell the Foundation story in one cohesive consistent cadence
  • Capture and build emotional connection with our audience, including the failures behind the wins, able to successfully apply vulnerability as strength
  • Overseeing cohesive brand storytelling across aesthetics, interfaces, gestures, environments, media, and customer support ecosystems
  • Design the story that builds on the Foundation brand
  • Define the narrative we want to make mainstream and relentlessly find new proof points to reinforce it.
  • Partner with AI, robotics, hardware, and software teams to co-create intuitive narratives that blend cutting-edge tech with emotional resonance.
  • Balance content virality with the deeper technical narrative (VLA, navigation, mocap, MkII)
  • Able to refine narrative aimed at the SF technical crowd, investors, and talent while also  branching out to mainstream.

What Kind of person are we looking for

  • Senior 0-1 comms builder who has stood up the company narrative and brand from scratch.
  • Comes from a deep tech background and experienced 3 X growth while telling a true and compelling technology story.
  • Someone who has  driven  the narrative.
  • Outstanding communication, storytelling, and presentation abilities to inspire teams and stakeholders with compelling narratives.
  • An  expert storyteller who is obsessed with the narrative and applies it continuously across multiple mediums
  •  Someone who Drives and designs their own objectives, strategy, and deliverables, then executes
  • A burning passion for storytelling  that doesn't just function but feels alive, intuitive, and emotionally engaging.
