We are seeking a commercially driven and audience-centric Head of Delegates to lead the development, launch, and scaling of Hyve’s delegate growth and engagement strategy across the Acquisitions & Best Practice portfolio, plus Connected Commerce, Mining Indaba and ASU+GSV.
Reporting to the President of Acquisitions & Best Practice, this is a strategic global leadership role focused on transforming how Hyve acquires, engages, retains, and monetizes unattached delegates across the event lifecycle.
The successful candidate will oversee the inaugural Year 1 rollout of the new delegate blueprint, refining the strategy, operating model, and performance framework before supporting broader implementation across additional events and brands from Year 2 onward.
This role focuses specifically on general attendee and unattached delegate audiences. A key part of the role will be driving delegate revenue performance across the Acquisitions & Best Practice and Connected Commerce portfolios, with responsibility for delivering delegate revenue targets of approximately $104 million while identifying new commercial and audience growth opportunities year over year.
Working cross-functionally with Marketing, Content, Product, Commercial, and Operations teams, the Head of Delegates will create a scalable, commercially successful, and highly engaging delegate model that strengthens audience loyalty, drives revenue growth, and builds year-round community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Leadership
  • Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of Hyve’s delegate growth and engagement strategy across the Acquisitions & Best Practice & Connected Commerce portfolios
  • Oversee the Year 1 launch of the new delegate blueprint and refine the operating model based on commercial performance and audience insights
  • Support the phased rollout and embedding of the model across additional Hyve events and brands from Year 2 onward
  • Develop long-term audience growth, retention, and engagement strategies that drive sustainable lifetime value
  • Partner with senior stakeholders across Acquisitions & Best Practice to align delegate strategies with broader business objectives

Audience Growth & Marketing
  • Drive acquisition strategies for new delegate audiences through innovative, content-led, and performance marketing initiatives
  • Build audience segmentation, engagement journeys, and lifecycle marketing programs designed to increase retention and repeat attendance
  • Partner closely with Marketing and Content teams to deliver high-performing campaigns and year-round audience engagement strategies
  • Develop sustained engagement touchpoints that extend beyond the live event cycle and strengthen community participation throughout the year

Commercial Performance & Revenue Growth
  • Own delegate growth and commercial performance metrics across relevant events and portfolios
  • Develop strategies to increase delegate revenue, retention, and conversion across both live and year-round offerings
  • Create and optimize upsell opportunities for delegates across add-ons, premium experiences, content, and community products
  • Establish scalable lifetime value models and engagement pathways for different attendee types and audience segments
  • Deliver delegate revenue targets of approximately $104 million ($77 million across Connected Commerce and Acquisitions & Best Practice and $27 million across Mining Indaba and ASU+GSV), while identifying new commercial and audience growth opportunities year over year.

Team & Stakeholder Management
  • Help shape and build the delegate operating model alongside senior leadership
  • Work closely with dedicated sales and marketing resources operating within a matrix structure and dual reporting environment
  • Influence and align cross-functional teams across Marketing, Sales, Product, Content, and Operations
  • Support future team design and recruitment, including the potential build-out of additional delegate leadership and operational roles
  • Build strong working relationships with event leadership teams across the Acquisitions & Best Practice portfolio, including Mining Indaba and ASU+GSV

Key Skills & Experience
We are looking for an experienced leader with a proven track record in building and scaling audience, delegate, membership, or community programs within complex, high-growth organizations.
The ideal candidate will bring expertise across three core disciplines:
1. Audience & Content-Led Marketing
  • Strong understanding of audience acquisition, engagement, and lifecycle marketing strategies
  • Experience delivering content-led growth initiatives beyond traditional email and paid media channels
  • Ability to build year-round engagement strategies that create audience stickiness and loyalty
2. Commercial & Sales Leadership
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience driving revenue growth, upsell performance, retention, and customer lifetime value
  • Ability to balance audience experience with commercial outcomes
  • Experience working closely with sales functions and commercial leadership teams
3. Community & Audience Management
  • Experience building and managing large-scale audience, delegate, subscription, membership, or loyalty programs
  • Deep understanding of engagement, retention, and audience development strategies
  • Proven ability to create community ecosystems that extend beyond a single event or transaction

Candidate Experience
Candidates may come from a variety of industries and environments, including:
  • B2B events, trade shows, or large-scale live event businesses
  • Media, publishing, or subscription-led businesses
  • Membership or loyalty programme organizations
  • Hospitality, sports, entertainment, or fan engagement businesses
  • Audience growth or subscriber engagement functions within major consumer or digital brands

Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be a highly collaborative, influential, and commercially minded leader who thrives in fast-paced, matrixed organizations. They will combine strategic thinking with operational execution and bring a passion for audience growth, community building, and commercial innovation.
