Introducing Moonlake, AI for creating world simulations.

About Moonlake

Moonlake is building the frontier of interactive world models: systems that generate, simulate, and reason over 3D environments for embodied AI, robotics and gaming. We develop the simulation infrastructure to build worlds (e.g., assets, scenes, digital twins) at scale.
Our team sits at the intersection of:

  • Embodied AI

  • Robotics simulation

  • Interactive 3D worlds

  • World models

  • Real-time generation

  • AI infrastructure

Moonlake is building the next generation of AI infrastructure for interactive digital worlds. Our mission is to enable anyone to create, simulate, and interact with rich environments using natural language and multimodal inputs, turning simple ideas into worlds with structure, logic, and agents that can perceive and act.

Our team has raised $28M in seed funding from NVIDIA Ventures, Threshold Ventures, AIX ventures and notable angels including Naval Ravikant and Jeff Dean to build the foundational layer for the future of AI - powering everything from robotics training, simulations, and digital twins. Our goal is to make building and experimenting with these environments as accessible and scalable as publishing video on the internet.

We are looking for exceptional research engineers and applied researchers to help push the frontier of interactive AI.

The Role

We're looking for an exceptional Product Design Engineer to shape the future of how people interact with AI-generated worlds. This is a rare opportunity to define the user experience for a new category of software at the intersection of AI, simulation, and creative tooling.

You'll work closely with researchers and engineers to translate cutting-edge AI capabilities into intuitive, elegant, and highly interactive product experiences. From rapid prototyping to polished production features, you'll own the end-to-end design and implementation of products that make complex AI systems feel simple and delightful.

What You'll Do
  • Design and build intuitive user experiences for AI-powered creative and simulation tools.

  • Rapidly prototype new product concepts from idea to working implementation.

  • Collaborate closely with AI researchers and engineers to bring frontier capabilities into production.

  • Own product features end-to-end, from interaction design and frontend architecture to implementation.

  • Build interfaces that simplify complex workflows across world generation, simulation, and multimodal AI.

  • Continuously refine the product through user feedback, experimentation, and iteration.

  • Help establish the design language and product direction for an entirely new category of AI software.

What We're Looking For
  • Exceptional product intuition with a passion for crafting polished user experiences.

  • Strong frontend engineering experience with modern web technologies such as React, Next.js, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS.

  • Experience designing and building products from zero to one.

  • Ability to rapidly prototype ideas and iterate with minimal direction.

  • Strong visual design skills with meticulous attention to detail.

  • Comfort working across design, product, and engineering disciplines.

  • Experience with AI products, creative tools, developer platforms, or simulation software is a plus.

Why This Matters

The interface is the product. As AI systems become increasingly capable, the challenge is no longer just building better models—it's making those capabilities intuitive, accessible, and effortless to use. At Moonlake, you'll define how researchers, developers, and creators interact with the next generation of AI infrastructure for simulation and Physical AI. Your work won't just improve the user experience; it will shape how entirely new categories of AI products are discovered, understood, and adopted.

We are committed to being an on-site, in-person team currently based in San Francisco.
