Method has built the most modern way to connect to consumer financial accounts. Combining real-time liability connectivity with instant payment execution, Method’s API is designed to make it easy for people to connect their financial accounts to the apps and services they want to use.
We have helped 45+ million users connect 350+ million liability accounts credential-less and processed over $2.5B in payments, helping users save millions in interest. One in every three credit cards in the United States is in the Method ecosystem and leading financial institutions like SoFi, Bilt, Cleo, Sezzle, Figure & Aven rely on our APIs to build magical experiences for millions of consumers.
We’re a team of 50+ people spread across offices in Austin, SF, New York City and Washington D.C! We’re excited to continue the momentum working alongside our investors and advisors from Andreessen Horowitz, Emergence Capital, Y Combinator, Avra, and Ardent. Who we build for
We build for two groups of people – customers and end-users. Our customers are companies like SoFi, Robinhood, Bilt and others that use Method’s liability APIs. Our end-users are our customers’ customers –people like you and I. While end-users are not necessarily our customers, we believe they deserve the same level of attention and care as our customers do. We have over 50M end-users, meaning one in five adults living in the United States have experienced Method’s technology.
Who you’ll work with
Design touches every part of Method, which is one of the more fun parts about working here. You will report to our CEO and primarily work with Product and Marketing. On the Product side, it’s an 8 engineer & 1 PM team coming from Google, Meta, Affirm, YC, Replit and a handful of startups. All of us come together for a few days at least once a quarter, usually somewhere enjoyable like The Hamptons, Miami, or Cape Cod.
The way we collaborate and build products is still very much fluid. We think this is great because it means you can have an outsized impact in molding and defining our identity as a team.
Who you are
We’re looking for someone to come in and build the best design team in fintech. We’ve hit an inflection point as a company and design will be one of the core functions that leads this company into its next chapter.
Method's technology is magical. When consumers go through our Connect element for the first time, it's a "WTF, how did they do that" type of feeling. This can be a good-spooky feeling or a bad-spooky feeling, depending on design. For a company building APIs, design is incredibly important in Method's success.
To start, you will play the role of a super-IC as you build out the design team of your dreams. This likely means hiring a Content Designer, Product Designer, Design Engineer, and whoever else you think is needed to continue making design a differentiator at Method. You will empower them to do great work and create a team that leads with empathy and vision. You aspire for design at Method to be a benchmark for excellence.
Closing
The core technology is built and the customers are there. Now it's time to scale one of the fastest growing fintechs into a multi-billion dollar company with an A-tier design team. Reach out if interested.
