About the role

Tint is seeking a Head of Events Insurance Programs to lead the strategy, development, and growth of insurance solutions serving the events market, including weddings, concerts, festivals, corporate events, conferences, and ticketed experiences.

This leader will own the design and scaling of insurance programs tailored to event organizers, venues, platforms, and ticketing providers. A core focus of this role is building and scaling embedded insurance solutions, partnering with ticketing platforms, event marketplaces, venues, and SaaS tools to seamlessly integrate insurance into the event planning and purchasing experience.

Working closely with insurance carriers, brokers, and internal product and operations teams, you will architect innovative insurance offerings that address the unique risks of events, including cancellation, liability, weather disruption, non-appearance, and vendor issues.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in event insurance, contingency, or specialty lines, along with experience designing and launching insurance programs—ideally in embedded or digital distribution models. This role is highly strategic and requires both insurance domain expertise and the ability to build and scale new market opportunities.

What you will do
  • Lead Events Insurance Strategy: Define and execute Tint’s insurance strategy for the events vertical, identifying market opportunities and developing scalable insurance solutions for organizers, platforms, and venues.
  • Design and Launch Insurance Programs: Lead the design and launch of insurance programs for the events market, including:
    • Program structure and architecture
    • Underwriting guidelines and eligibility criteria (e.g., event type, size, location, risk profile)
    • Pricing and risk segmentation strategies
    • Policy forms, filings, and regulatory compliance
  • Build Carrier and Capacity Partnerships: Develop and manage strategic relationships with insurance carriers, MGAs, reinsurers, and brokers to secure sustainable capacity and competitive program structures for event-related risks.
  • Expand Tint’s Presence in the Pet Ecosystem: Build relationships with ticketing platforms, event marketplaces, venues, event management software providers, and organizers to grow Tint’s customer base and develop embedded insurance opportunities.
  • Drive Embedded Insurance Integrations: Partner with product and engineering teams to design seamless insurance experiences embedded within ticket purchase flows, event management platforms, and partner ecosystems.
  • Monitor Program Performance: Evaluate program performance across underwriting results, claims trends (e.g., cancellation, liability, weather, non-appearance), and operational metrics, identifying opportunities to optimize profitability, risk management, and customer value.
  • Serve as Industry Subject Matter Expert: Act as Tint’s internal and external expert on the events insurance market, monitoring industry trends, regulatory developments, emerging risks, and evolving customer expectations.
  • Represent Tint in the Market: Engage with carriers, brokers, event platforms, and industry groups to position Tint as a leader in innovative insurance solutions for the events industry.
You should apply if you have…
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in event insurance, contingency insurance, specialty lines, or related areas (e.g., liability, accident & health tied to events).
  • Proven experience designing or launching insurance programs, including underwriting structures, filings, and carrier partnerships.
  • Strong understanding of event-related risk characteristics, including cancellation, liability, weather risk, and vendor or performer-related exposures.
  • Experience working with insurance carriers, MGAs, brokers, and reinsurers to structure insurance programs.
  • Experience with or strong interest in embedded insurance and digital distribution models.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with product, engineering, operations, and sales teams.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to translate market opportunities into scalable insurance solutions.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across carriers, partners, and internal teams.
  • Experience operating in fast-paced environments, including startups, MGAs, or program administrators.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with embedded insurance, program business, or digital insurance platforms.
  • Familiarity with event ecosystems such as ticketing platforms, event marketplaces, venues, or event management software providers.
  • Experience with contingency products such as cancellation, non-appearance, or weather insurance.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) or Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) is a plus.
  • Experience building or leading insurance programs serving event organizers, venues, or platforms.
What We Value Most in a Candidate
  • Culture is Key. Our team is remote first. We are a diverse, global team that works well together, even when we aren't in person. We are looking for self-motivated candidates who can stay motivated and focused. But don't worry, we're still social! We work collaboratively even though we are remote and travel to team and company retreats throughout the year.
  • Focused on Results. We are a fast-moving small team with big goals. We need team players that feel a sense of urgency to drive meaningful results for the business. We have clear company goals and a pathway to significant growth - and this role is integral to that journey.
  • Customer-first. Put yourself in the shoes of someone trying to buy our solution. We need a person who can empathize with our customers and help create strategies to continually improve the customer experience.
  • Adaptability. We're still an early-stage start-up, and things change quickly. If you are energized by learning and discovering on-the-go, this will be an excellent fit for you. We are looking for open-minded candidates that adapt well to changing environments as our company grows and scales.

These retreats are a mix of business and fun and we always choose a cool, central-ish location - think Barcelona, Playa del Carmen, Mallorca… Add on a few days of your flexible time off and you’ve *almost* got a free vacation somewhere cool!
