We are searching for the best talent for the Head of Finance, Monarch Platform, based in Santa Clara, California.

Purpose: As a key member of the Monarch Platform Leadership Team, the Head of Finance will partner with the Monarch President and senior leaders across Robotics and Surgery to develop and execute business strategy. The role has end-to-end P&L ownership and provides strategic financial counsel across Sales, Marketing, R&D, Service, Supply Chain, and other enabling functions, helping to drive performance and strategic decision-making for a global platform operating across multiple markets. The Head of Finance will lead finance managers and analysts, develop talent, and foster an inclusive, high-performing culture built on diverse perspectives, individual strengths, and candid feedback.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the strategic finance partner to the Monarch President and Platform Leadership Team.
  • Evaluate financial performance against long-term strategic priorities, operating plans, budgets, forecasts, and key business objectives.
  • Provide insights and recommendations that shape the platform’s short- and long-term growth plans.
  • Lead operating reviews and performance discussions, translating financial analysis into clear actions.
  • Partner with commercial and cross-functional leaders to develop go-to-market strategies and operating models that support platform growth, market adoption, and scalable commercial execution.
  • Own end-to-end financial management of the Monarch Platform, including financial planning and analysis, P&L governance, balance sheet and cash flow management, accounting compliance, and performance reporting.
  • Ensure financial stewardship, governance, and compliance with GAAP, SOX, and internal control requirements.
  • Support enterprise-wide efforts to strengthen and standardize financial reporting, systems, tools, and processes.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing finance team while fostering an inclusive culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field is required.
  • An MBA, CPA, CMA, or other advanced degree or financial certification is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive finance or related business experience is required.
  • Strong financial leadership experience, including planning, forecasting, performance management, investment prioritization, and P&L ownership.
  • Demonstrated experience influencing senior leaders across functions and shaping business decisions in a complex, matrixed organization.
  • Track record of leading through ambiguity, managing competing priorities, and delivering results in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong business acumen, strategic mindset, technical finance capability, and analytical rigor.
  • Demonstrated people leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, empower, coach, and develop high-performing teams.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in medical devices, healthcare, robotics, technology, capital equipment, or another innovation-driven business environment.
  • Experience supporting growth businesses, new product platforms, or commercial expansion initiatives.
  • Experience partnering with senior executives and operating in a global or matrixed organization.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$172,000.00 - $297,850.00

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

bject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).
This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.
Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:
Vacation –120 hours per calendar year
Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado –48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington –56 hours per calendar year
Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays –13 days per calendar year
Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
Parental Leave – 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child
Bereavement Leave – 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year
Caregiver Leave – 80 hours in a 52-week rolling period10 days
Volunteer Leave – 32 hours per calendar year
Military Spouse Time-Off – 80 hours per calendar year
