About The Role:

The Business Development team aims to advance our company and product goals through partnerships by augmenting product experiences and engagement, accelerating user and revenue growth, raising brand awareness, and driving distribution of our products and services. We are seeking an experienced and innovative partnerships leader to manage this small, fast-paced, high-performing team and develop a comprehensive global strategy to bring Notion to everyone in the world.

Your role will involve building and scaling existing and new partner programs, identifying strategic and new business opportunities and channels to distribute Notion’s product, and developing strategies to enhance and grow one of our biggest competitive differentiators: our ecosystem. You’ll be expected to work cross-functionally across product, engineering, design, marketing, customer, and legal teams to define priorities and influence roadmaps and resources.

We’re looking for a Head of Global Business Development who is excited about our mission and the opportunity to drive global awareness for and adoption of Notion through our partner ecosystem. You have demonstrated success and diverse experience building partner motions and programs across technology, channel and alliance, and product distribution in the productivity / collaboration SaaS industry. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in laying the foundation of our business development and partnerships initiatives globally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and manage the Business Development team, including business development and partner managers across product and go-to-market programs
  • Work cross-functionally and with Notion Staff to define global partnerships strategy and goals that impact key company KPIs
  • Oversight of partner lifecycle and experience, including: awareness, recruitment, enablement and education, operations, marketing, go-to-market motions
  • Advocate for partners as Notion evolves its product strategies and go-to-market motions to better contribute to their success
  • Accelerate outcomes of existing partner programs and evaluate new programs and partnership opportunities, including: Technology, Security and Compliance, Developer Marketplace, Services, Channel / Reseller, Cloud Marketplace, Distribution
  • Help scale partner channel, services, and cloud marketplace revenue aligned with global go-to-market strategy
  • Manage strategic technical and business negotiations, including partnership with our Finance and Legal teams to develop and negotiate custom partnership agreements and repeatable motions to scale to broader ecosystem partnerships

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 10+ years experience in strategic business development in the SaaS industry, including 5+ years experience managing global business development and/or partner relations teams
  • Developed global product and business strategies, aligning with company OKR planning and global expansion goals
  • Highly cross-functional and well-versed leader who can influence teams across product, engineering, design, marketing, customer, and legal
  • Deep experience with developer platform, marketplace, and ecosystem strategies
  • Demonstrated track record of complex deal negotiation, building and scaling global partner programs, and joint business planning with partners
  • Financial / analytical acumen and familiarity with different commercial and monetization models

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience working at a high-growth company building partnership programs and teams from the ground up
  • Knowledge of generative AI ecosystem and existing key partners
  • Familiarity with cloud marketplace motions and ecosystem-led growth strategies
  • Experience working with Notion’s current partner companies

The compensation offered for this role will be based on multiple factors such as location, the role’s scope and complexity, and the candidate’s experience and expertise, and may vary from the range provided below. For roles based in San Francisco or New York City, the estimated base salary range for this role is $265,000 - $315,000 per year.
