Position Overview

Contrarian Thinking is building an A-Team marketing department, and we’re looking for the leader who can take it from great to unstoppable.

We want a creative, irreverent, and experienced Head of Marketing to drive our next phase of growth. You’ll bring 7–10+ years of experience leading cross-functional marketing teams and know how to scale in fast-moving, high-growth environments.

You see patterns others miss. You blend instincts, data, and experience to spot opportunities, connect the dots, and push the limits. When a goal is met, your instinct is to ask: how do we 10x this?

This is a role for someone who thrives in startup culture, embraces ambiguity, and knows how to turn audience attention into measurable growth. If you balance creative storytelling with analytical rigor, brand with conversion, and vision with execution—this is your seat at the table.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all marketing functions (organic, paid, content, email, design, events) and ensure they work as a cohesive system
  • Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing team while empowering individual ownership.
  • Develop and execute strategies for event ticket sales, high-ticket program growth, and product launches.
  • Ensure marketing consistently fuels the sales pipeline and revenue goals with profitable growth.
  • Architect and oversee paid media strategy—owning both high-level vision and tactical execution.
  • Design lifecycle and email campaigns that nurture leads, convert customers, and build retention.
  • Guide creative and content outputs to align with brand standards while staying conversion-focused.
  • Structure pitches, decks, and programming for events and sales campaigns that convert.
  • Create repeatable frameworks and playbooks that allow campaigns to scale without constant reinvention.
  • Monitor performance across all channels, surface red flags early, and adjust course quickly.
  • Act as a cross-functional leader, collaborating with Growth, Sales, Content, and Leadership to drive outcomes.
    The Ideal Candidate
    • 7–10+ years of marketing leadership in high-growth environments (media, creator-led, or info product space a plus)
    • Proven success scaling full-funnel marketing: awareness → lead gen → conversions → retention.
    • Deep expertise in paid media strategy and theory across Meta, Google, and beyond
    • Skilled in lifecycle/email marketing and funnel optimization
    • Strong grasp of information architecture for pitches, decks, and event programming that converts
    • Equally creative and analytical — comfortable balancing storytelling with data-driven decision-making
    • Experience managing and growing teams; proven ability to mentor while holding high standards
    • Adept at building systems, processes, and playbooks that drive efficiency and scale
    • Cross-functional operator who thrives working with Sales and Growth to drive revenue outcomes
    • Ten steps ahead thinker who anticipates challenges and opportunities before they hit
    • Contrarian at heart: thrives in ambiguity, challenges assumptions, and delivers results.

      What is Contrarian Thinking?

Contrarian Thinking is a new type of investment and advisory firm supported by highly leveraged media.

Led by Codie Sanchez, 15+ year veteran of private equity and operator of a portfolio of Main Street businesses, we help owners BUY, SCALE, SELL. We buy businesses, teach our partners how to do acquisitions, then we help them scale to create enduring businesses they love to run.

We build tools like BizScout (one of the largest business acquisition marketplaces in the world), Growth Boardroom (operating system and community for business owners over $1M+), Contrarian Thinking Capital (venture capital firm investing in the innovation for the next generation of businesses).

In less than 5 years, we have:

      • Rallied ~12 million followers
      • Turned 9-to-5ers into owners, helping thousands ditch the corporate hamster wheel
      • Bought into dozens of real-world businesses through our Main Street holding company
      • Launched an investment fund that backs some of the world’s fastest-growing companies
      The Contrarian Creed

These are the words we stand by, live by and define what it means to be a Contrarian.

      3. How you do anything, is how you do everything.
      4. We do the dirty work.
      5. Your word is your contract.
      6. We are Archimedes, find your lever.
      7. Winners want pressure.
      8. We want your weird. Better weird than boring.
      9. Your job isn’t done until THE job is done. We work the problem.
