About Us

Leona is on a mission to empower everyone to take the best care of themselves, their patients, and their loved ones. We have an ambitious goal: to transform the way the world interacts with healthcare, because where you live shouldn't determine the quality of care you receive.

For patients, managing your health should feel empowering, not intimidating. For doctors, we want to eliminate the administrative noise so you can focus on what matters most: delivering exceptional care. We're reimagining what it looks like for doctors to care for patients in an AI-first world — starting with a platform that streamlines doctor-patient communication via WhatsApp, acting as an AI clinical assistant that automates non-urgent tasks, surfaces what's urgent, and gives patients the convenience of reaching their care team 24/7.

With bases in San Francisco and Mexico City, our team brings together years of experience scaling companies like Uber, Rappi, Modern Fertility, and Wonder across the US and Latin America. We're backed by a16z, General Catalyst, and Accel, and a remarkable group of angels including the founders of Nubank, Rappi, and Maven Clinic.

If you're hungry to build 0-to-1, and roll up your sleeves to make magic, thrive in ambiguity, and care deeply about building a better future, this role might be the perfect fit for you.

The Role

Location: Mexico City

We've found early traction through relentless hustle. Now we need someone to turn that hustle into a repeatable growth engine. You'll own everything between "a doctor has never heard of Leona" and "a doctor can't imagine practicing without it"—acquisition, activation, retention, and referral. That's the system you'll build.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the Growth Engine: Own the entire doctor journey, from awareness to activation, retention, and referral.

  • Find Scalable Acquisition Channels: Run rapid experiments across outbound, partnerships, referrals, paid, SEO, events, and other channels to discover repeatable, efficient growth.

  • Turn Users into Customers: Obsess over activation and help design onboarding experiences the let users experience Leona's value as quickly as possible.

  • Use Data to Drive Decisions: Define the metrics that matter, build dashboards, talk to customers, and make growth decisions based on evidence.

  • Shape the Product: Work closely with the founders and product team to bring customer insights into product decisions and influence what gets built next.

  • Build the Growth Team: Hire exceptional people, develop scalable playbooks and systems, and create a growth function that becomes a long-term competitive advantage.

In your first 90 days, you will:
  • Launch acquisition experiments across partnerships, outbound, paid, referrals, and other channels to quickly identify which channels most efficiently accelerate the Leona flywheel.

  • Rework the doctor onboarding experience so new users understand Leona's value within days, not weeks.

  • Build the dashboards and operating cadence that become the company's source of truth for acquisition, activation, and retention.

  • Develop a clear point of view on where Leona's next phase of scalable growth will come from.

What We're Looking For

The best person for this role may never have had the title "Head of Growth." They may have founded a company, been employee #5 at a startup, or built a business as a side project. What matters is that you've built something from nothing and can point to the numbers you personally moved.

  • 5+ years of experience, ideally in an early-stage startup

  • Proven experience driving growth in a 0→1 environment

  • Demonstrated history of exceptional performance and rapid career progression

  • You've built something from scratch, it could be a company, product, side project, or growth engine, and can clearly articulate the metrics you personally owned and improved

  • You've attracted exceptional people to join you before you had meaningful brand or budget, and have experience leading high-performing teams

  • You'd rather launch an experiment this week than spend the week writing a strategy deck

  • You thrive in ambiguity, create clarity, and execute with exceptional organization.

  • Strong analytical instincts and excellent communication skills

  • Fluent in English, Spanish and/or Portuguese

What to Expect
  • Autonomy & Responsibility: You will own your time and efforts, prioritizing the activities that have the largest impact for the company

  • Collaboration: A small, talented team where everyone rolls up their sleeves. and has each other's backs 24/7

  • Growth: Direct mentorship from founders with deep experience scaling technology companies

  • Ambiguity: We're early. The right answers aren't always obvious, and you will be responsible for navigating ambiguous environments and determining the best path forward

  • Mission: We care deeply about what we're building, which means we set aggressive goals and hold ourselves to them — this isn't a 9-to-5

  • Flexibility & Generous Benefits: Unlimited vacation policy, health insurance, wellness benefits, unique team offsites (past examples include hot air balloon rides, cooking classes, and padel tournaments).
