About HUD

HUD is building infrastructure to create RL training data and evals for frontier AI agents, as well as a marketplace to sell these to frontier labs through the HUD marketplace. Our platform is used by frontier labs, Fortune 500 companies, and startups. We’ve raised $16M from top VCs and were YC W25.

About the role

We’re hiring a Growth Lead to help HUD meet the right people and evangelize our vision. This is the most unique role at HUD as “right people” could mean

  • Candidates for hiring, the initial focus of this role

  • AI engineers and researchers at events

  • Key people at other AI companies and the broader AI ecosystem

This role isn’t growth in the traditional GTM sense - though it could become that if you develop a large rolodex and enjoy sales. Where this role leads really depends on you!

Responsibilities
  • Telling HUD’s story and getting people excited about our vision through worldbuilding

  • Finding, connecting, and meeting with candidates, AI engineers and researchers, and other key people in the AI ecosystem

  • Define our culture and values, then screen candidates and develop an onboarding process for new hires based on them

  • Work with the Chief of Staff to own end-to-end recruiting, including building and optimizing the systems (recruiting ops and tooling, automated workflows, etc.)

  • Work with the Marketing & Events Lead to host community events, represent HUD at industry events, and create content

  • Work with the GTM Engineers to find intros or connection pathways into high-priority leads

Experience

You may be a good fit if you have:

  • Genuine excitement about frontier models and telling HUD’s story - explain your interest in detail under “Why are you interested in working at HUD?”

  • Experience finding and connecting with people in any context (e.g., recruiting or GTM)

  • Strong soft skills - well-spoken, probably extraverted, and good at reading people

  • Desire to learn recruiting, marketing and events, GTM, or any other function that could evolve from this role

  • Early-stage startup experience with ability to work independently in fast-paced environments

Strong candidates may also have:

  • Strong network within the RL researcher, RL engineer, and broader startup communities

  • A clear point of view on how great technical companies tell stories

  • Experience in recruiting, community, or content roles in startups

  • Evidence that you can understand technical products well enough to explain them simply and accurately

  • A standout portfolio of writing that showcases your ability

We prioritize technical aptitude and learning potential over years of experience. Motivated candidates are encouraged to apply even if they don't meet all criteria.

  • Company stage: We have 8 figures in funding and high revenue growth. We’re scaling profitably and quickly to meet very strong demand.

Logistics
  • Employment: Full-time preferred, open to fractional for exceptional candidates.

  • Location: On-site in the San Francisco Bay Area.

  • Visa Sponsorship: We provide support for relocation and visas for strong full-time candidates to the US.

  • Timeline: Applications are rolling. The process is 2 technical interviews and a 2-3 day work trial.

  • Competitive compensation based on experience and location

  • 100% covered top-of-the-line medical, dental, and vision from Blue Shield of CA

  • Lunch and dinner when you’re in the office

  • Other perks including an Equinox membership, 401k, and commuter benefits

  • Unlimited* access to tokens for ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor, etc. *By unlimited, we mean no one on our token usage leaderboard has ever hit a limit. So we have no idea what the limit is.
