Head of Growth

Build the growth engine for the future of rental ownership

Most landlords have two legitimate paths: self-manage and absorb the time and operational load themselves, or work with a property manager who brings expertise and capacity for ~10% of rent. But neither addresses the most important thing. Getting paid rent, the whole point of owning a rental, isn't guaranteed. That risk has always sat with the owner.

Nomad is different. We help rental owners lease faster, get paid reliably, and manage their rentals through software, including Guaranteed Rent, where owners get paid even if tenants don't. We've facilitated $250M+ in rental payments, with thousands of happy paying customers, and built a strong foundation with a lean team.

We're hiring a Head of Growth to take it from here. You’ll have support from our ace growth+finance leader to support you every step of the way with data, analytics, insights and context along with our agency - so you’ll be able to jump in and add value immediately.

What you'll own

Growth strategy across the company: acquisition, conversion, retention, lifecycle, and the channels we haven't fully unlocked yet (outbound, SEO, AEO, referrals, etc.). You'll be hands-on for the first 6 months, and build out a team of 2 ICs initially. A broader scope may be available for more senior candidates.

Specifically:

  • Scale and improve our existing paid acquisition (Google and Meta focus). Much of the plumbing exists; the optimization layer on top is where you add value.

  • Build outbound, SEO, AEO, referral, and lifecycle motions.

  • Improve conversion and activation across a multi-step lead-to-active funnel.

  • Run a high-cadence experimentation program with real rigor on incrementality and forecasting, with support from engineering.

  • Hire and develop a small, high-leverage growth team.

We're AI-pilled and going deeper every day. We expect you to use LLMs for content systems, creative iteration, and internal tooling as default ways to ship faster and better.

What we're looking for
  • You've led growth at a startup or high-growth tech company, ideally DTC, fintech, or marketplace.

  • You've personally executed performance marketing, not just managed people who did.

  • You understand attribution, value-based bidding, and signal pipelines deeply.

  • You're comfortable being the primary growth person in the room for the first several months before hiring.

  • You have strong product intuition and want to influence pricing, packaging, messaging, and onboarding alongside marketing. This won’t be a main focus but we’re open to your fresh perspective.

Bonus: you're a landlord or real estate investor, or you've operated in fintech or marketplace.

What this role isn't
  • It isn't a brand or comms role. We’re looking for verifiable performance, not just the soft stuff (though the soft stuff is truly important).

  • It isn't a CMO seat with five teams reporting in by month six. It's a player-coach with 2 ICs budgeted to start.

  • It isn't a delegate-the-execution role. You'll be in ad accounts, writing briefs, reading SQL, and shipping experiments yourself.

  • It isn't a hand-me-the-playbook role. Channel expansion here is figure-it-out work.

  • This role will not start by having an agency run a market segmentation.

What success looks like in year one
  • 3x high-quality, high-volume owner acquisition within targeted CAC payback.

  • Launch at least two new acquisition channels at scale (likely outbound plus one of SEO, AEO, owner referral).

  • Hire 2 ICs and ship a clear team operating rhythm.

How we work

We take principal risk on every customer through Guaranteed Rent, so we operate with the underwriting discipline of a financial business and the customer obsession of a consumer product. That combination is rare, and it shapes how we hire, decide, and ship: low ego, high ownership, real consequences for getting it wrong, and real upside when we get it right.

Location

Denver, CO. In-office 3 days/week. Full-time.

Compensation

Total cash comp $170,000 - $250,000 depending on level, plus meaningful equity, plus health benefits and flexible time off.
For the right person, this is the kind of role that becomes career-defining. If this sounds like you, we'd love to talk.

San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area attracts more startup funding than any other region in the world. Home to Stanford University and UC Berkeley, leading VC firms and several of the world’s most valuable companies, the Bay Area is the place to go for anyone looking to make it big in the tech industry. Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 365,500; 13.9% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, Greylock Partners, Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins
  • Research Centers and Universities: Stanford University; University of California, Berkeley; University of San Francisco; Santa Clara University; Ames Research Center; Center for AI Safety; California Institute for Regenerative Medicine
