About The Role

As the Sr. Director of IT at Skydio, you will lead a team to manage and scale the company's IT infrastructure, systems, and services across all locations. You will drive strategic initiatives that enhance IT operations, focusing on reliability, scalability, security, and user experience. This role requires a hands-on approach to solve immediate challenges while planning long-term improvements.

What You Will Do

  • Own and scale IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and scalability across all Skydio locations.
  • Develop, deploy, and support IT systems, including network, application, and end-user services.
  • Work with engineering, product, and operations teams to align IT initiatives and support Skydio’s specific project requirements.
  • Lead the design and implementation of IT strategies that align with business growth and operational needs.
  • Implement automation, monitoring, and proactive IT solutions to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Ensure robust cybersecurity measures to protect Skydio’s assets and maintain compliance with relevant standards.
  • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to optimize cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to implement systems that enhance productivity and support company goals.
  • Foster a high-performing team by recruiting, developing, and mentoring IT professionals

What You Will Bring

  • 10+ years in IT leadership roles within a high-growth technology or security-driven environment.
  • Proven experience managing global IT infrastructure and business applications.
  • Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment.
  • Hands-on experience with networking, AWS cloud platforms, linux administration, cybersecurity best practices, identity providers such as Okta and G Suite business systems.
  • Ability to be in office a minimum of 4 days per week in San Mateo, CA

Compensation: At Skydio, our compensation packages for regular, full-time employees include competitive base salaries, equity in the form of stock options, and comprehensive benefits packages. Compensation will vary based on factors, including skill level, proficiencies, transferable knowledge, and experience. Relocation assistance may also be provided for eligible roles. The annual base salary range for this position is $200,000-270,000. Fundamentally, we believe that equity is the key to long-term financial growth, and we ensure all regular, full-time employees have the opportunity to significantly benefit from the company's success. Regular, full-time employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s group health insurance plans. Regular, full-time employees are eligible to receive the following benefits: Paid vacation time, sick leave, holiday pay and 401K savings plan.
