Your Key Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Provide strategic, commercially focused legal and compliance advice to business leaders, enabling informed decision-making and supporting the achievement of business objectives.

  • Advise cross-functional stakeholders on commercial, regulatory, marketing, tender, customer engagement and product launch activities, translating complex legal requirements into practical business solutions.

  • Identify, assess and mitigate legal and compliance risks across the organization, including matters relating to anti-bribery and corruption, competition law, employment law, investigations, product liability and dispute management.

  • Draft, review, negotiate and manage a broad range of commercial agreements and contracts, ensuring appropriate protection of company interests while supporting business priorities.

  • Contribute as a key member of the Malaysia and Singapore leadership team by providing independent judgment, constructive challenge and strategic legal input on business-critical decisions and market opportunities.

  • Oversee investigations, external counsel relationships, legal operations, compliance systems and budget management while fostering a culture of integrity, accountability and high performance across the organization.

What you’ll bring to the role:

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified legal practitioner with a recognized law degree and admission to practice in Malaysia would be advantageous.

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive legal experience, ideally gained through a combination of leading private practice and senior in-house legal counsel roles.

  • Extensive experience providing legal support across corporate and commercial matters, contract negotiation, governance, regulatory compliance and dispute resolution.

  • Proven track record of advising senior executives and leadership teams on complex legal, compliance and strategic business issues.

  • Strong understanding of compliance frameworks, investigations, anti-bribery and corruption requirements, competition law and enterprise risk management practices.

  • Experience working within the pharmaceutical, healthcare, life sciences, medical device or another highly regulated industry would be highly advantageous.

  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing stakeholders within regional and/or global matrix organizations.

  • Strong commercial acumen, sound judgment and a pragmatic, solutions-oriented approach, with the ability to balance legal risk against business opportunity in a fast-paced environment.
