The Head of Marketing will oversee AptDeco's marketing operations, focusing on content strategy, growth experimentation, and influencer partnerships, driving brand awareness and conversions while innovating marketing philosophy.
AptDeco was founded to fix a problem everyone knows: buying and selling used furniture has always been messy and inconvenient. We’ve built a trusted marketplace and a logistics network unlike anything in the industry to make the entire experience seamless. Now, as we scale across the country, we’re looking for builders and operators eager to shape something new at a pivotal moment. If you’re driven by impact and energized by fast growth, you’ll fit right in.
AptDeco has built a strong marketing foundation and proven channels, and we believe we’re about 60–65% of the way to having marketing fully figured out. To unlock the next phase of growth, we’re looking for a hands-on Head of Marketing who can help define our marketing philosophy, introduce new ways of thinking, and scale what’s already working.
This role is for a builder. You will have full autonomy to bring new ideas, channels, and concepts, while also being responsible for personally executing alongside a lean team. The goal is not to reinvent everything — it’s to take a solid foundation and help turn it into a best-in-class marketing engine.
The Head of Marketing will own AptDeco’s day-to-day marketing operations, with a strong focus on content strategy, social media, influencer partnerships, and growth experimentation. You’ll be responsible for building and executing campaigns across multiple channels, managing creators, analyzing performance, and helping shape our brand voice across the customer journey.
You are equal parts creative storyteller and data-driven marketer, comfortable rolling up your sleeves to execute while also thinking strategically about how all the pieces connect. You’re scrappy, resourceful, and hands-on—someone who thrives in a lean environment and embraces the challenge of creating outsized impact. This is not a “corporate” role; it’s for someone who is nimble, loves the agile nature of start ups and wants to use their know how and creativity to do something different.
- Define and evolve AptDeco’s marketing philosophy: how brand and growth work together, how ideas are tested, and how success is measured
- Introduce new mental models, frameworks, and growth loops across content, creators, partnerships, and channels
- Identify and validate new growth opportunities while protecting and scaling what’s already working
- Raise the bar for creative quality, strategic rigor, and experimentation across the team
- Build repeatable systems for how ideas move from concept → test → scale
- You'll work with the CMO, Performance Marketer, Graphic Designer and Marketing Campaign Assistant
- Partner with Product, Operations, Engineering and Customer Support teams to understand customer needs and translate them into effective messaging.
Campaign Strategy & Execution
- Plan and manage end-to-end marketing campaigns that drive brand awareness, conversions and/or tell the story of the brand.
- Determine channel mix and coordinate execution across social, email, paid, partnerships, and owned content.
- Build project plans, timelines, and briefs in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Own the overall content strategy: what messages, formats, and stories we share—and on which channels.
- Oversee the social media calendar and collaborate with in-house or freelance creators to produce high-impact content for TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube Shorts, Pinterest, Substack, etc
- Ensure content is aligned with brand voice, marketplace positioning, and business priorities.
- Monitor trends and adapt content to keep AptDeco culturally relevant.
- Build and manage influencer programs that support acquisition and brand awareness.
- Identify, negotiate, and onboard creators; coordinate briefs and deliverables.
- Track performance, optimize partnerships, and scale what works.
- Test new channels (TV, UGC, podcasts, affiliates, partnerships, new social platforms).
- Run A/B tests on creative, messaging, or landing pages to improve conversion and engagement.
- Collaborate with paid media partners or internal teams to align content with performance goals.
- Own weekly and monthly marketing reporting across social, content performance, influencers, and campaigns.
- Evaluate channel performance, engagement, and acquisition metrics to identify insights and opportunities.
- Recommend data-backed improvements to enhance reach, efficiency, and ROI.
- A proactive problem-solver who owns projects end-to-end
- A creative marketer who understands social-first storytelling
- Analytical and comfortable interpreting data to drive decisions
- Highly organized with strong project management skills
- Excited about marketplaces, commerce, sustainability, logistics, and/or interior design
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, scrappy, startup environment
You’ll have meaningful autonomy to bring new ideas and challenge how things are done — with the expectation that strong existing channels and learnings are respected, improved, and built upon. Success in this role means knowing when to innovate, when to iterate, and when to double down.
- A track record and experience with achieving significant impact is a must
- 7+ years of experience in digital marketing, content marketing, growth marketing, or integrated marketing
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with a bias for action
- Experience managing social channels and/or working with influencers
- Strong understanding of short-form video and creator ecosystems
- Ability to analyze and report on marketing performance metrics
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with tools like Meta/TikTok platforms, CRM/email tools, and project management systems
- Strong creative instincts paired with an obsession for measuring results and understanding what resonates with customers.
- Experience working with Influencers
- Marketplace or e-commerce experience is a plus
- Startup experience is a huge plus
- Play a pivotal role in shaping a brand that is redefining furniture resale and sustainable living.
- Opportunity to create work that drives cultural relevance and tangible business impact.
- Join a passionate, mission-driven team dedicated to making furniture buying and selling easier, safer, and greener.
The base pay range for this role is $130,000 – $175,000 per year.
